Those guys seem to think we lead with Shutt (also considering Florida) and Day (still open), and that we are head-to-head with PSU for Jarron Jones.

...looks more like an LSU depth chart. Wow.

I love that our coaches can sell that their system relies on rotating lineman and switching formations, because we could run a stacked 4-3 with that line.

I see both as swingmen personally. Day seems a little short at 6'2" for our prototypical DE, that's why I put him inside.

I am getting the feeling that we may be a true hybrid defense by 2013:

Against Oklahoma, a 3-4
Lynch--Nix--Tuitt
Spond--Grace--Moore--Williams

Against Michigan State, we'll run a 4-3:
Lynch--Shwenke--Tuitt--Williams
Spond--Moore--Shembo

I've always had the impression that, at least in Division I, running a 4-3 is relatively simple compared to a 3-4. Each DL basically one-gaps, making reads much easier so raw athleticism can take over. You don't see many stunts or loops in the college game.

Diaco will have the talent on hand to pull it off.

-Tommy Schutt was a name that was prominent early on, but he’s been really quiet during the recruit process. It was reported that ND, OSU, and PSU were his Top 3, but now he has a Top 4 of ND, PSU, Wisky, and Florida. He’ll be visiting ND this weekend, and plans on visiting PSU, UF, and Wisky. He’ll be announcing on a television program that Tom Lemming has some part of, which isn’t all that good of news considering Tom Lemming is a big time ND Homer. It doesn’t mean he is definitely headed ND way, but it certainly doesn’t give you warm and fuzzies. Schutt did grow up a PSU fan so maybe when/if he visits he loves it here? It will be his first visit, by the way.

I don't think he necessarily moved up his timetable. He did visit Florida, ended up skipping ND. Who knows what that means. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Visited for spring game and supposedly had a great time. He doesn't take calls from recruiting services so it's anyone's guess. Really just wants to focus on his high school football. Could legitimately be any of the 4 schools he is looking at.

Conflicting reports, which is why I haven't posted an update yet.

One site says Thursday/Friday of this week.

Another says Tuesday of next week.

Regardless, he's visiting.
