and out of left field...he had it made at Wisc.

Disagree. He was about to get run over by Mich and OSU. He was able to rise up due to one or the other being down. No longer the case. Wisky's run was coming to a close.

Not much sense there. Is Alverez pushing Brett out the door to take it back? No sense in leaving Wisconsin for Ar Kansas as Les Miles would say.

Funny, if he stayed this year and not been head coach of Arkansas St. Chizek may still be head coach considering all the offensive problems they had without him.....

He knows the writing is on the wall. He had a magical year with Wilson. They have never been able to recruit a QB to develop. The big ten is about to become a two man league again.

anyone else really glad that ND isn't looking for a new coach right now?

Absolutely. The coaching carousel is only going to spin faster as more money pours into CFB. Praise jeebus that ND is one of the few destination jobs. Can you imagine how much it would suck to be a fan of Pitt (if Chryst leaves), Arky State, or Wisky? The odds of them finding and keeping a good program builder are not good.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer conference.

Pitt fans should be nervous, I think Paul Chryst will take the Wisconsin job.

I'm going to go a bit further out on that limb and say, if this happens, we should reopen the recruitment of Dorian Johnson. With the string of injuries and possible departures coming along the offensive line, I think we should take Johnson because he could move inside and play guard (or possibly even move to the defensive side of the ball given his athleticism).

I know taking 6 offensive linemen sounds insane, but it prevents us from having to take another one in next years class and it does serve an immediate need. Also, I believe he fits in well with the "elite recruits only" mantra that applies to our last 4 to 5 spots.

Regardless, Johnson allegedly has transcript issues. Wouldn't count on it.

Maybe Bielema is confused after talking to JonLSmith and thinks he is taking the Bama job

Hey I just won the B1G!

Time to go to a mid-tier SEC school!

Holy crap I'm glad we're not in that conference.

Maybe it's just me, but the first sentence in this tweet may not be the best way to project what Bielema will do in Fayettville.

I feel like the implementation of the playoff had to play a role in Bielema's decision. SEC is essentially guaranteed 2 out of 4 spots, with the others probably going to 2 of the Big 12 champ, Big 10 champ, Pac 12 champ, and Notre Dame. With the way the Big 10 has looked of late, Bieliema probably realized it was going to be damn near impossible to get Wisconsin in the conversation for a NC and bolted for the SEC where, keep in mind, Arkansas finished #6 in the country last year and #8 the year before. That at least puts them in the conversation to be one of the top 2 teams in the SEC, whereas Wisco basically has to be #1 in the B10 AND hope that 2 of ND, B12 champ and P12 champ have rough years.
