I'm standing by the Folston comparison. As a freshman he touched the ball 93 times in regulation for 504 yards and 3 TDs. That's where I'd set the O/U for Tyree.

Per the SB Tribune, will wear No. 25.

Lenzy used to be 25, but wants to switch to 0.

I love star RBs with double digit numbers.

Same number of games we'll get to see him wear it this year... :(

In the Three Stooges episode where they're mistaken for college football players, Curly's number was a question mark, Larry was H2O, and Moe was 1/2. I think. Classic.

Isn’t that the reason no one wears #1 anymore, because of Greg Bryants passing?

Yes, they started rotating the # to those who "earned" the right to wear it for a short while a season or two after GB's death. Don't think they did it last year, though.

He got some compliments from BK about his patience for a young back. There were quite a few really nice runs in that highlight. He's a much more complete runner than he was given credit for out of HS.

Just goes to show why the blue chip RBs should be coming to play behind our OL...we finally had one buy in to that idea, and he's killing it immediately.

To be fair, he is 4 ft tall and weighed 86 lbs soaking wet at the time (hyperbole). The smart money would have sided with him not being a complete back out of high school lol

Well, I'm kind of with you on this but it still leaves a lot to contend with. Yes, getting blue chip players is important. But blue chip players, to who?

I would agree that his talent is showing itself but not that his blue chip rating from 247 or rivals, as a reason why. Kyren wasn't considered a blue chip by any site and he's also doing insanely well. Kyren was a throw away to a lot of ND nation, on Denson's way out because he was such a terrible recruiter.

RB is just like any other position, there are guys that are not blue chip HS prospects, that will become blue chip collegiate prospects. And there are blue chip HS prospects that play like blue chip prospects at the collegiate level. Nothing more, nothing less.

Josh Adams is another example. He set freshman ND rushing records. He wasn't a blue chip recruit either.

Remember those scouts who said he was a fly sweep guy and thats it?

And this is just another point to make in the blue chip rating conversation. He was actually downgraded as the process came to a close as he was just a special situation guy. In fact, he finished the cycle at the lowest level he was ever rated at by the composite and 247. From start to finish he was never rated lower than where he finished in both.

As we've seen through 3 games, he's a much more complete runner than they suggested.

People that actually paid attention, like Matt Freeman at the Poly Bowl, said he was most impressed with his ability to run between the tackles and ability to pick up tough yards in short yardage situations. Which is what we are seeing now. He's certainly doing well with the outside zones but he's doing

That was my point exactly. And 247 did it with Cane Berrong this year downgrading him to a 3 star due to IDK the pandemic.

Our plan A recruits for next year seem to be Sawchuck/Singleton. Highly rated by the sites and the staff, as well as other schools. We should be able to land one of them with what we have to sell.

I haven't looked too far ahead to 2022 recruiting. Any reason why these two (other than they are really good)? Are either of them leaning ND?

both are very very good....we are mentioned by them during interviews...but neither is a lock, lean or anything of the sort to ND

Staff needs to sell that to recruits. Show how well someone like Adams did and then show what a better runner can do behind those big boys.

Right, wouldn't say we lead for either of them. But among the first wave of RB offers, they seem like the ones with the most interest.

There are other guys on the board that are pretty darn good as well. Gi'Bran Payne and Damari Alston would be great additions to the class.
