For the love of gord, lets air it out a bit and put some speed on the outside! Keys, stay healthy!

[EDIT] Don't mind me bumping threads, I'm catching up on being offline from a move.

Have to admit, he looks like a million bucks.

Is the rhythm pat something they teach nowadays? Pyne and Book both have it.

I’m gonna maybe go against the grain on this one but I believe Pyne deserves the opportunity to prove he’s not the one (as in he needs to be walking out with the 1’s from the start of camp). I hope he really gives the staff something to think about during training camp. We all know too well how Kelly stays where he’s most comfortable. And quite frankly I’d be beyond pissed if I waited my turn only to welcome a transfer in my spot, and is now the presumed starter.

Now if Drew doesn’t secure it, then that’s on him. But I think he has to be given a legitimate opportunity or I think he’s out. For that I can’t blame him. The entire QB situation could turn ugly in a hurry if it’s not handled with care. I don’t envy the decisions that will have to be made.

Wouldn't pyne be who he is most comfortable with considering more time in Program than a spring transfer?

Never know what promises were made. Pyne starting and succeeding would be a great Notre Dame story

Coan and Buchner are not Kelly QBs. That's how teams like 'Bama and Clemson win. We win with guys like Rees and Book. I fully expect Pyne to start for the next 3 years.

I would think so, but I’m not sure that Kelly would look at it the same. I’m speculating of course, and Conan has real game experience which I think that’s what BK of old would trust more. Maybe it’ll be left up to Rees to make the decision. Or left to Rees to convince him otherwise. I’ll say this, if Conan is the man, then let the pieces fall where they may. And I’ll support the team’s decision in that event. I’d just like to see our QB (that they offered a scholarship) show that he’s worthy, and get every honest opportunity.

I get it! and part of me wants Conan to be Joe Burrow, and well that would be awesome. But I can’t help but feel for these kids that pour their heart and soul into something only to be passed on by what we feel is best for the team type of mentality. I want to have a ride or die mentality, but I also want this team like all the rest to be successful. It’s a tough position certainly. I can’t help that I don’t trust Kelly with our QB’s, even though he has done so well. If Alabama wins another NC with Bryce Young, Well… I’ll be beside myself.

Wasnt Pyne the least impressive of the spring game QBs?

I believe it’s all relative, and Spring games are not. I watch it just to have some football in my life, nothing more. If we based it off the spring game TB would be running with the ones this weekend.

We offered a scholarship to Coan too, twice in fact.

I actually dont mind who the QB is so long as they win ND a natty, get the heisman, goes number 1 then out does Brady's NFL career and comes back and coaches ND to a decad of dominanance.

Good point, I didn’t think about that. He is a part of the team now so here we go!

Are any of you concerned about potential fallout from whoever gets the start? As in someone deciding to transfer?

Ive been seeing lots of video out there of Pyne working with our recievers over the summer but little to no video of any sort on Coan. What can we make of this?

I’d like to see the the breakdown of how Coan fits in Bama and Clemson type QBs as well as being in the same circle as Buchner and away from Pyne/Rees/Book.

Besides height of course
