I meant within the past 4 years. That's when Stanford really has seemed to eat ND's lunch when it comes to safety recruiting. I remember all of those safety targets late in the '14 class committing to Stanford. That's the stuff of nightmares

Hard to believe he turned an 8-5 season in '14 into a 12-2 season in '15 with 40 safeties on his roster. One of the greatest coaching jobs ever in history.

I cannot think of a single safety that has chosen ND over Stanford

And I think it's a fair concern since we haven't had a lot of success recruiting against them recently. However, with Elko in charge I think it's pretty evident that things are changing. For example, if it wasn't for BVG's lack of recruiting prowess, we would've probably landed Justin Reid and Ben Edwards.

Plus Elko is the S's coach, which sounds like it's having a decent impact here so far. Your position coach is the DC, is a nice sell, and is working with other players as well.

Throw in Brandon Simmons & Andrew Pryts too. I'll give them Frank Buncom because he's a Cali guy.

ZERO reason ND shouldn't have at least 1 of them.

I don't understand? Why would he not play free safety?

Hopefully he's like Jeff Okudah. Started out as the top S in the class and ended up the top CB. They land Griffith let him play the back end. Put the better athlete's at CB.

Idk if the article says anything about it but I was told Derrick Allen going to ND helped here even more

Texas brought in a monster DB haul in '18: 3 safties and 3 CB's all .9500+. 2 of the safeties are EE's.

Would suck to come in the year behind all that but it's not like ND won't be loaded at safety either and that's before Irvin signs dammit!

Maybe he can pull a Jeffery Okudah and play CB in college... while attending ND of course.

Would love for him to choose ND, but Dunne is a tough place to figure out. Obviously not impossible, but they've been a rapidly changing program the last 6 or 7 years.

If he is thinking Texas it is because of game day and football tradition. If he is thinking Stanford it is because of academics. Only one of the three options offers all of that.

Like Michigan, Cal, UCLA and even UNCheat, you can get all the education you want at those public schools. Ya just gotta look for it and buck the trend.

I get it you live there so you probably don't love it as much as others but everyone always raves about that place.

Do you really trust Gk's opinion though? I mean, that dude lived in Cincy. /italics

For real though, UT is everything in this town and companies are moving here constantly. Any player that takes studies remotely seriously, they'll have plenty of opportunities here. Plus they'll have plenty of fun while here.

Wiltfong backed off his ND CB and went foggy.

Hire Coach Meat and turn him lose on Williams. Neg recruit Elko's wardrobe and watch the CB's roll in.

It's hard to keep up with the 4 different DC/Staff threads going right now. Who's Coach Meat.
