... I'm giving up on ND recruiting. ...
Rivals throws a 3 Star / 5.7 rating on McNamara.
(Movin' on up like George and Weezie.)
He told rivals it was kind of a two step process, committed a couple/few weeks, shortly after the offer but wanted to wait to go public until he met BK, as he wanted to do it face to face.
Congrats Cade, really excited to have you. Not too many sophomores throwing for 46 td passes against reasonable competition. Keep up the good work.
If you are going to grade sophomores, which I think you could make the argument that you shouldn't, but if you are. How do you not even grade this kid, until now? His stats are really good. That alone should have "legit" scouts, at least grading him. The process is a joke, especially this early.
Tim Prister reckons Cade has some Johnny Football in his game lol
Matt Freeman said that McNamara, before his junior season, is already bigger than Ian Book was as a high school senior. Size is not a concern.

I know you wanted others, but the kid is good. And if ND like what they saw in person and are willing to let him jump on, I'm game. Early QB commits are huge (see: this year's early recruiting).
It's comical how some of you automatically labeled him as a college backup when he has TWO YEARS left of high school football. He very well could be 6'3"-6'4" before he ever steps foot on campus as a college freshman. It is wayyyyyyy too early to try to forecast where he'll be on the depth chart for his entire college career. I actually thought his film looked really good and think he could be a good college quarterback down the road. For a guy that threw for 46 touchdowns his sophomore season, there's a lot of people hating on this pickup. Congrats Cade, I think you'll do great things at ND.
Debatable.
They lost to Henderson Liberty in the playoff semi's, 30-27, Liberty then lost to Bishop Gorman 84-8.
Their other loss was to San Diego Cathedral 49-12, where he had just 147 yds passing and 2 INT's one by none other than Jordan Genmark-Heath.
They did have a nice win against Huntington Beach (CA) Edison who had a rare down year at 5-7.
Everything else is low rent.

You should be able to at a school like Notre Dame. Sometimes I feel like we settle for 6' QB's. Who knows if Jurkovec even pans out. He's been sliding in the rankings for a while and what he does on the field you can't teach but he also has a TON to work on before he gets there. He's extremely raw. Sometimes I just feel like we settle sometimes. I like McNamara but for some reason I'm not comfortable going from Avery Davis who I was never that high on. Jurkovec who has a ton of work to do and could be Dayne Crist or he could put it all together and become a stud which we need for him to be. And then McNarama who I'm curious on how high his ceiling is going to be? I hope he grows a few inches and I understand he's only a sophmore in high school.
Either way welcome to ND Cade and am excited to see you grow and get out there and compete.
Yes, because elite high school players will be tripping over each other to play with Cade...
I said it. Roast me. Don't care.
Well considering that ND wanted Cade over Dylan Morris, this would suggest that his rankings may begin to reflect this. So when this kid is a top ten QB in the class, yes, elite players will want to play with him.
And a QB is often a good leader and good recruiter for the school. Phil J has been pretty much non-existent in this regard. If he was more active in the recruiting department, who knows where this class would be. Instead, simply his presence has and will continue to help sign kids.
So who knows, Cade McNamara could be an extreme benefit to this class in regards to recruiting, but his addition will help at least minimally in regards to recruiting because the presence of a QB helps any class get off to a nice start.
you need to be in the Elite11 for people to care and Phil isn't there. Even having Stepp as the class recruiting "leader" isne't really effective given the fact that he's not known outside of IN.
You seriously believe this?
So only 11 QB's across the country can positively impact their classes by being recruiters?
on a national level yes

To be fair, Urban hasn't had to offer anyone since last June because he's had a Top 10 QB committed for a full year.
Urban also offered Jaylen Mayden who was at the Elite 11.
The Elite 11 was an odd list this year. Phil, Sitkowski and Yankoff should have been there without question regardless of how they performed in Regionals. Anybody with a reptilian brain knows they are are top 10 QB's overall.
Exactly, the best recruiter in the country offered Phil that early. Heck, Wiltfong even had him CB'd to OSU. That's a pretty big deal. And it's not just OSU, he had an offer from Bama. What is a bigger deal? Offers from 2 of the "elite" recruiting schools? Or being at a camp with a QB that is going to Iowa State?
And maybe that kid is a baller but it's not about projection, it's about "national" clout, it's not even close.
The whole Elite 11/The Opening thing is overrated anyway. You're gonna rate quarterbacks based on 7v7, playing in shorts, and facing zero pass rush? Lol
Phil J wouldn't be able to show his true talent in the Elite 11 anyway as his mobility is a big part of his game.

that may be so but it's the premier event for recruits. If you are dominant at these camps that gives you traction with other recruits and gives you more influence over them. You can use that influence to help you school's class fill up. When you are on the outside looking in then your ability to connect with kids beyond your area/state is limited. It's probably only when the All Star Games come around that maybe Phil can be a big selling point for this recruiting class if he performs well there.
