The defensive line has looked mediocre in general since Mike Elston left. After what he did here and what he did at Michigan he has a real argument for the best position coach in CFB before he left for the NFL.

It's at minimum a 12 game season. Lots of football to be played. Lots of time for any player, transfer or not, to make their impact. Y'all want to grouch and moan, you can, but it's time to turn the page to Purdue. It's a new game, a new day for a player like Oben to improve his play.

To be fair, Oben was essentially losing snaps to a true freshman and a LB turned DE. Oben had something like 1200 snaps before coming to ND.

He made a great play. But, overall, in the big picture of the entirety of the season, he's been a disappointing pick-up. Both can be true.
