I’d be kind of shocked at this point if that’s where he ends up. I’m thinking way bigger things are coming for him, and he goes for that instead of the school ties.

*Ok. Just updated my IPhone and this shit comes out all wonky. Anybody else experience this? Looks like apostrophes aren’t going in right

Mine’s doing the same thing

Agree, I've got a glimpse or two of PU, and they aren't the PU I have watched over the last 5-6 years. Might have the right coach there finally.

Brohm won't be there in 3-4 years to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Once Louisville tires of Petrino, Brohm is the guy.

I was going to respond with something like that like what if Auburn, A&M, Florida, Tennessee or... Notre Dame threw $6-7-8M at him next season...?

BUT

On the flip side, one thing Louisville does do with Papa's money is pay. The question is will they miss their window with him?

He's going to get offers after this season, but if Louisville finishes 7-5 or so, does a new AD jettison Bobby P. and make a run at Brohm? They could conceivably go 1-4 the rest of the way. If I'm the new AD there, I'm cleaning house of everybody, including Petrino.

Don't be surprised if he sticks. Brohm is a pretty good coach, but it's also no coincidence that his early success coincides with the departure of former AD Burke. It was well known that Burke ran the athletic department as a business like he did Inland Steel. Plenty of stories of how coaches had to pay out of their pockets all the time for recruiting.

Brohm's salary is around $4M. Some incentives can push that past $4.5. Previous HC Hazzell's salary was $2M. Good salary, renovations and in arguably one of the top 2-3 football conferences. A lot of reasons to stay. With Louisville's current problems and Juich no longer there, Purdue and Louisville could pass each other on I-65 heading in the opposite directions.

He fits too much of the Devin O’Rourke profile for ND to want him. 6’5”+ SDE that’s a consensus 4* from a region nearby is not the way to go for ND.

He was pretty bad last year at ND’s II. Was significantly behind guys like Ademilola and Oweh. And Oweh isn’t an advanced football player to start.

Shouldn’t say bad, but significantly behind.

This can’t be true, I thought he was 1000% committed?

So a Purdue “commit” schedules OVs to Florida and USC. O/U 0.5% chance he goes to Purdue. I’ll take the under.

Alright. Enough water has flowed under the bridge. Time to get after him again. Dude's an athletic freak.

4.7 40's at 260?

Plus his "Lil" brother Yanni might be a 5*.

Couldn't agree more

SDE - Check (we need 1 more at the position)
Length - Check (6'4''-6'5'')
Athleticism - Check (4.7 40 time is pretty nice being 260)
Academic Offers - Check (ND, Michigan, USC, UF, Miami)

Dude should be high up on the board for SDE's. Plus, he's 2 hours away!

Lol, I'd love to know where that came from. Must have dominated a camp. In terms of being the #12 best player overall, I'll say hard pass.

https://247sports.com/Article/Rankings-update-The-Opening-Ohio-Under-Armour-Chicago-and-Baltimore-118459732

As the spring camp cycle continues to wrap up, we’ve seen a number of Midwest and east coast events that have sparked some major rankings moves. Among them, The Opening Ohio regional and Under Armour camps in Chicago and Baltimore have inspired some major changes in our rankings for the class of 2019 and 2020. A roundtable discussion with national and regional experts Steve Wiltfong, Allen Trieu, Brian Dohn, Bill Greene and Sean Fitz inspired the following four-star moves.

George Karlaftis, DE, West Lafayette (Ind.) HS – Could this be Purdue’s biggest commit since Ryan Kerrigan? It sure looks like Karlaftis has that kind of upside. The local kid with elite athleticism was outstanding in Ohio. He also has every trait we look for in five-star level kids as a multi-sport athlete with elite verified testing numbers who is a state champion shot-putter and plays all over the field for his high school. Karlaftis will have a chance to earn a fifth star at The Opening Finals this summer and he’s been moved up to the No. 12 player in the country.

He may not be #12, but he's top 100 and I would love to hear that ND is talking to him. Must be grades? Maybe he hates ND?

These local studs are few and far between and I cringe when we're not locking them down.

Are we sure he ever had anything more than passing interest in ND? Because I don't recall ever seeing anything more

Going back and reading this thread is weird. No one seems to have any idea what's going on with this one.

First ND - Miami
Then Miami
Then Miami - Michigan - Purdue
Then Purdue
Now Purdue - USC - UF

I think that's part of the reason it didn't work out with ND. This recruitment has seemed a little off from the start.

Yeah just based on the timeline, people hoping we pull this kid are likely going to be disappointed. Kids who switch their top 3 around this much in six months very rarely end up picking ND, and those that do end up picking ND have a habit of transferring or flaming out.

Has he visited ND?? I read an article in the South Bend Tribune that "Miami is his dream school." Good for Purdue for landing the backyard talent...looks like they might have to fight to keep him.
