Ran for 2500 yds last season with 46 TD's. Has already run for 4000+ yds in two years of HS.

Ran a respectable 11.6 / 100M as a soph. Long Jumps 21-3, strong number.

Surprising he has not one offer yet. Does have quite a few ND follows though.

If we finish off '18 well, have a good season and plant a flag in the Midwest for '19... then we could have a special team come '19.

Or our '18 class will fall apart, our team will suck, BK gets fired and UM gets all of these IL recruits.

Lack of offers could be due to him being a '19 kid and as TP said, he plays poor comp. I'll bet he starts getting them this fall.

St. Teresa has sent quite a few students to ND in its day, though like everyone has said, the competition is poor. None of the schools in town really play that great of competition, though his team did at least make it to the 1A State Finals. There'll be a couple people at St. T pushing him to South Bend, if he stays.

We have 8 classes in Illinois.. Just for frame of reference, Weishar's school is 8A, Julian Love's 5A, The Mount Carmel's of the world are 5a. Most talent comes from 8A - 5A from the state of Illinois. 1A very few and far between. Not knocking this kid at all, just reiterating that 1A/his competition is not historically powerful.

Oh I know. I think they were 2A a few years ago, which is still shit, but the kid isn't receiving interest based on his competition, but the performance at II last year. I'm surprised that the kid didn't move, I wonder if that'll happen next year.

Isn't Mt Carmel 8A like Loyola and Brother Rice?

What I find interesting is that, despite playing poor competition, early rankings on this kid are really high. Normally this early in the process they will play it conservative and see how the small school kid looks at camps before cranking his rating up. But they are wasting no time here.

I wonder if that's from doing camps last season???

As a Freshmen?

If so, I find it hard for them to gauge talent that early, no?

Must be super athletic. He impressed as a freshman at II, so I guess it wouldn't be crazy. As pointed out on ISD yesterday in an unrelated article, Jaelan Phillips was unranked before a bump post-Junior year. He ended as the #1 prospect in the class on 247

All it takes is for Wiltfong to see him live, on the hoof camping at ND and he looks up the stats & film on his iPad sitting in the bleachers. 247's the only one giving him an R&R right now so this is all Wiltfong.

IF Jacardia Wright was to commit on the same day of his timeline as Dillan Gibbons did, he'd commit a month and a half from now. The class of 2019 isn't some far away thing, 5-10 of them will be on campus in less than 2 years. ND offered '19's Max Williams about a year ago. I'm posting a 2020 OT today. Time keeps marching on...

I have to be honest; I don't care that much about competition. I think it helps in preparation of a kid playing at a college level, but in the end, if a kid is a player, he's a player.

I like Wright.

Eh, I was just kind of spitballing there a bit. Not playing big time competition in Illinois certainly doesn't help, but, as others have pointed out, he impressed at Invasion last summer, he may well be on his way to some offers

Lovie's workin' it on the down low, hoping to keep this under the radar.

Don't get me wrong, I love Wiltfong and his work, but I've heard that camp settings and evals are not his forte.

Won't argue that but he's the 247 voter in the Midwest where Jacardia Wright's practices his trade. All i was saying is he got his R&R because of Fonger.

It's really watered down. I don't like it and never have. Too many 5-4 teams that don't deserve to be a "playoff" teams, and too many Chicago Public League teams with good records that get bounced early. Thus the first two rounds have more blowouts than you'd prefer as a neutral observer or fan.

Few down in Decatur can afford to go to St. T, but St. T has a good program albeit a small one. Hard to say here, but my guess is the directional FCS schools jump in here with offers first. Then it goes from there.

Nothing says Central Illinois like the posted Cardinals, Bulls & Bears logos with the purposely left out Hawkey... I mean hockey favorite.

They just never showed the games on tv. At least on our cable packages.

At least we know that Jacardia's been corn-bred.
