I’m just in shock that he was drafted. This kind of stuff is why we laugh at NFL scouts and GMs. They fall in love with “traits” and don’t look at what they actually put on tape. Marist objectively caused more problems than he solved on the field.

Think we see ND guys are valued sometimes regardless of production. You know you are generally getting a guy who will not have issues off the field and will work his ass off on it. Marist prob embodies that. Good for him and hopefully it pays off for Cowboys.

Not gonna say I thought he was the next JOK but definitely thought there was a pro future at some level for ML. I will say 9 starts as a rookie and the stat line he put is more than I expected.

Matt Eberflus is their DC now but yah they were 31st in run defense last year so maybe there is room to improve but not by much

Bad HC but a solid to good defensive guy. There's enough talent on that side of the ball where they could be okay, but likely not elite/flirting with elite like they were in 2022 or 2023.
