Here is Tony Alford responding to Driskell, not to argue the numbers are wrong, but to argue why is Driskell only calling out Georgia and pOSU. LOL

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Hey B- whatever the #’s show, 50%, 41%, 81%, 2%. My question is this- of all the schools to pick out and put on blast, why OSU?</p>— Coach Tony Alford (@CoachTonyAlford) <a href="https://twitter.com/CoachTonyAlford/status/973011289000873984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 12, 2018</a></blockquote>

Probably because Urban destroys Nd in recruiting and in far too many cases it's because he's able to convince 18 yo kids OSU is just as good of a spot academically as ND which is silly.

The other bad news is Herman picked up some tricks from his old boss and is about to pull off the same thing with Nana. When you're losing high academic kids to schools that don't prioritize academics in their football program it's a problem.

There's negative recruiting which includes Dabo Swinney telling Jackson Carman that Urban Meyer is going to retire, Jimmy Lake trying to spill dirty secrets of ND to Kyler Gordon, and then there's sending recruits charts like the one seen above about graduation rates. I mean those numbers are astounding. I'm also surprised with Cal-Berkeley being that low, but I've heard they make up joke classes and also reach for underachieving kids in recruiting who have no chance to make it at that school. But for a 17yr old kid, they need strong guidance in not buying what James Franklin, Kirby Smart, or Urban Meyer are selling. There's a reason these guys make millions, they are unbelievable recruiters. Parents and HS coaches of the recruits need to be shown the numbers, but I'm sure ND's coaching staff is 12 steps ahead of everyone on this board.

Shouldn't the question be why do you graduate under 50% of your African American players?

What is OSU sales pitch to life after football? We will get you to the league in 3 years and you might make a few million but after that it's up to you to figure out what you do with your life?

If you make it to the league for three years you're probably getting a pretty nice gig in Columbus/Ohio because of your Ohio State name recognition. That is, if you want it and have the professionalism.

It's the players who fall by the wayside that ya have to worry about because it's a football factory in ever sense of the word.

Some very interesting basketball players in the family.

Dad was the leading scorer at Southern Miss alongside 1st rounder Randolph Keys. He was a early round draft pick but played in Europe instead for around 15 years. His Uncle was former Oklahoma star Angelo Hamilton. Angelo was a freak, might have been the first 360 I ever saw in a nationally televised game. His Dad's first cousin is Antonio Lang that played on some great Duke teams in the early 90's and in the NBA for a long time. Antonio's son is TJ Lang who was at Auburn but couldn't get along with Pearl apparently so he transferred this seasson to USF where he'll play his senior year in '18-'19.

Nothin but athletes in that family.

Freebie from Mr. Loy
https://247sports.com/Article/Latest-on-Notre-Dame-and-top-safety-target-Kyle-Hamilton-116700955

Since the start of February, the 6-3, 188-pounder has added offers from the likes of Georgia, LSU, Indiana, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Stanford and Florida State.

On March 11, he announced that he’ll be focusing seven finalists and a decision will come before his senior season. The list included Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Northwestern and Duke.

Back in February, Notre Dame offered Hamilton and made it clear he’d be heavily pursued moving forward. On Sunday, he spoke about that at The Opening regional in Atlanta.

“Notre Dame is just a special place,” said the 2019 target to 247Sports insider Rusty Mansell, who was at the event. “When you step on campus, there’s like a buzz, not only the football team, but all of the students there. Academically, it’s one of the best in the country. Alumni network, it’s one of the best in the country. And football, they value that up there.”

Hamilton still has visits to take before he makes a final decision. He’s considering all of his finalists. However, Mansell did ask which of those schools will absolutely be in it until the end come decision time. He made it clear that he wasn’t asking for a leader or the favorite, but wanted to know which school or schools have solidified themselves as true finalists until his commitment date.

“Probably Notre Dame and Georgia,” said Hamilton in response
.

Hamilton is still planning out spring and summer visits. His final decision date is unknown, but is expected to come before the start of his senior season.

Per the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Hamilton is the No. 71 safety nationally and No. 92 prospect in Georgia from the class of 2019.

At least at 247, this has a UGA feel right now. They have a lot of momentum right. Not ideal.

Been kinda quiet on the Hamilton front so I did a quick search and ran across his Opening results. Not as fast as I expected. Much longer than I expected. Very strong performance besides the 40

Measured in at 6-3.5 / 188.

40 = 4.79
Sht = 4.25
Vrt = 35.2
PB = 43

Total = 109.74

He looks faster in his film than he showed at the Opening.

Barton Simmons and Steve Lorenz with ND CBs. Also, Kyle got a nice little bump on 247; he was around the 90th ranked safety this morning, now he #49 and 247 has him as a borderline 4:s:

No commitment yet?

Staff's losing all the momentum it had built over the past 4 days

Well, clearly the problem is ND fans are too positive about recruiting at this point. The staff is probably telling Kyle to wait on his announcement until IE can have another recruiting induced breakdown.

For those that have seen his film, what do you think of him? Is he a diamond in the ruff? Is he a FS or another SS?

I love his length and ability to make plays in the passing game with that length. He covers the whole field really well for someone who ran just under a 4.8 40. Makes me think he's faster than one would think.

Is he a diamond in the ruff?

I hear his bark is worse than his bite.

A question I have, is it just me or have we been hitting (and getting) Georgia a lot more in the last few cycles? Have we always done this and I've just never noticed?

I think he could play both & Rover. Depends where his body (and Balis) takes him.

Yea, we are certainly getting into GA more and earlier. Trusting our evals there earlier, seems to be helping. KJ Wallace, and Hamilton are a couple of examples of that.

I'd definitely like to see it continue. It's such a talent rich state and I think that UGA/Tech don't quite "own" it in the way that other southern states have been able to put up a fence. Tennessee football was successful for years because of their ability to poach Georgia kids.

There are also a lot of fantastic academic high schools in Georgia that produce some really good kids that would fit what ND is looking for. Like KJ Wallace at The Lovett School.

They did a great job creating traction with D Allen and his Dad. Find an elite talent with RKP's as a soph and kick the other program's teeth in from Day 1.

I did a write up where ND offered 100+ scholarships in X amount of seasons and got Issac Rochelle and a Punter. GA was a waste of time how they were doing it. That changed with Derrik Allen.
