In the same season, this guy went from being a pleasant surprise to being a penalty machine and absolute liability in space. I miss Marist.

Overall I’m still pleased with his play this year. I feel the 15 yard blow to the head penalty last night was not intentional. It was more unfortunate. To me it looked like he jumped and raised his hands in an attempt to knock the pass, he didn’t get it and when he was coming down unfortunately his hand collided with Howell helmet. I did not think it was intentional at all, just unfortunate.

I saw it the same way. It was the correct call, but it felt like he got a little bit unlucky.

I think the way Bertrand has played this season has been impressive especially considering the 3 LB injuries. Pushed into a starting role, he has produced overall very respectable results.

I thought it was kinda intentional made to look unintentional. like “oh no my elbow came across your face? Didn’t mean to”

I felt the same. Closed fist vs open palm shows intent to do more than avoid, IMO.

Massive momentum killer, the stuff of Calabrese and early Harrison Smith.

Bertrand seems to have lost a step since Sept, when he was all over the field making plays. Now he's usually late.

Navy might be the time to get Kollie's feet wet at the ILB spot that Bertrand is handling. Its all "assignment football" vs the option; just rig it up so Kollie's assignment is tackle the damn fullback.

Posted in the Freeman thread but I'll post it again here. This might explain the dip in production.

Yep, he played a ridiculous amount of snaps the first half of the season…….really missing those 3 LBs out with injuries right about now. Hope Kollie can get some snaps to help out.

Horrendous watching him play.

The 2022 LB group can't get here soon enough.

Freeman included him in the top 3 LB’s which I think is higher than some folks had during Spring Camp. First guy up behind both Bauer and Liafau. Though his reps at Mike w/Bauer may resemble a timeshare.

Of note, they have him at 28th starting this season while he ended last season at 13th.

I have been vocally disappointed with him all year but kudos to him for last night. He was flying around the field.

JD, I'm sorry I said you have Joe Schmidt Disease three weeks ago.

Since then, you have played like a fucking baller. I will take my @OldTakesExposed callout.
