I think his dad really likes Marcus judging by the visit he made to ND to interview him for his podStrongly dislike his father. Hopefully that's the worst thing I have to ever say about him
Clark had more pass defended this year than Harper had in 4 years at Oklahoma State.Prister sounds pretty meh on Clark. Has said twice he's not Thomas Harper so not to get your hopes up.
Uyeyama likes him quite a bit and backed it up with stats.Prister sounds pretty meh on Clark. Has said twice he's not Thomas Harper so not to get your hopes up.
Prister is slowly becoming the old man who yells at the clouds. Wouldn't put too much stock into anything he says anymore.Prister sounds pretty meh on Clark. Has said twice he's not Thomas Harper so not to get your hopes up.
That's a wrong takePrister is slowly becoming the old man who yells at the clouds. Wouldn't put too much stock into anything he says anymore.
Disagree. Maybe the analogy was wrong, but he tends to underplay EVERYTHING. I wouldn't say that's real. That's pessimistic. That's an extreme. I think O'Malley and Sampson are way more real than Prister is.That's a wrong take
He may be old, but he's still real as shit and his knowledge/history is invaluable.
He by far was the most dead on about Tobias for just one example.
I value guys like him and Mike Frank. They're older and they've seen greatness, championships - and they haven't lowered their expectations and I appreciate that. It's that critical lens they look at players through usually, IMO.Prister is slowly becoming the old man who yells at the clouds. Wouldn't put too much stock into anything he says anymore.
I think they're both jaded and I find it hard to listen to them sometimes, ESPECIALLY Frank since he doesn't really provide any value to the pod. Don't get me wrong, I don't like homers either. I tend to prefer the talking heads who keep it in the middle.I value guys like him and Mike Frank. You need a mix, but having the old guard with high standards is necessary too.
You could be right. Clark did get picked on more this year than 2022. He gave up over 500 passing yards vs opponents. But you’re right about Harper. I don’t think Prister expected what ND got out of him this year. Hopefully Clark is a seamless transition.Clark had more pass defended this year than Harper had in 4 years at Oklahoma State.
I'm sure Prister knows a thing or two, but I've seen Clark play. If you were to put his film next to Harper at OSU, I'm taking Clark in a millisecond. More explosive, better in coverage.
I think he's suffering a bit of recency bias, because Harper really benefited from playing in Golden's defense in a way I feel Clark is going to benefit as well.
So Mike Frank?Prister is slowly becoming the old man who yells at the clouds. Wouldn't put too much stock into anything he says anymore.
Yeah, I can't even listen to Mike Frank. I think TP tends to lean more to the pessimistic side, but is somewhat reasonable about it when Tim O and Pete push back on him. Mike doesn't have the personality that will allow anyone else on the pod to push back and he just runs with the negativity.I think they're both jaded and I find it hard to listen to them sometimes, ESPECIALLY Frank since he doesn't really provide any value to the pod. Clark also played through a knee injury this year and a scheme change to less man coverage (which he excels at)didn't see ASU play this year but just assumed they were bad everywhere with a really bad season that they had but the way you guys are talking this kid was really good and can really help this team be a playoff contender next year so excited about that.
Lol literally yes, but a less annoying versionSo Mike Frank?
Did he specifically say why he didn't like him?Listening to the Thursday II pod, I'm not sure I've ever heard prister be more negative of an incoming player, save for maybe Jack Kiser whom he didn't think was worthy of a p5 scholarship.
Had nothing but negative things to say about him.
Did he specifically say why he didn't like him?

i get that his dad is famous on ESPN and whatever but having a kid who has never played a snap representing the program in NYC is kinda weird to me
