That's a very high rating for a TE, higher than Brock or Kmet. Would be a great addition for this class.

Hopefully we really make use of the TE talent this year.

I know we all tire of hearing it, but soooo much rides on whether we can actually improve the passing game next year.

It's the Stanford CB's that concern me. Man, have we sucked at winning that battle recently.

Nick Saban hasn’t given up as he just flipped the commitment of Hudson’s HS QB from Arkansas State to Bama.

Any idea what happened here? Feels like we should at least have made a top five.

Hopefully it’s because these guys know Michael Mayer will be coming in right on their heels.

Gotta think Stanford is in the mix b/c of academics, their program and the fact that he would be close to his big bro in LA.

I have no clue how PSU got in the mix. Only thing I can speculate is that Franklin pitched his SEC background along w/ the resurgence of a former powerhouse.

Clemson is Clemson. Say whay you want about Dabo, but that guy can coach & recruit. I constantly hear CFB reporters rave about his relationships w/ players & their families.

Wisky? No clue. Chryst is supposedly a QB guru yet that’s the one position that has held them back. They think their QB turned the corner in the bowl game win over Miami so maybe he sold Hudson on the pro-style offense that Chryst started under Hunter’s old HC at Ark.

Arkansas is a no-brainer.

Bama will make some noise b/c you can’t convince me Saban flipped a kid from Arkansas St, who just happened to be Henry’s HS QB and good friend, based solely on his QB skills. I think Saban got close to securing Hunter Henry back in his recruitment but the hometown team won out.

Near his brother has nothing to do with it. He’d be a plan ride away in Palo Alto. If he really cared about being close to his brother he’d be committed to USC. But I do agree that the tradition of TE’s at Stanford and the academics are a big draw for him.

Yeah, fair point. He can get a great private school education at SC but it’s not exactly located in the best area when you consider he’s always lived in a fairly sheltered environment in a small state.

I believe it’s 5.5 hrs from Palo Alto to LA. I’m sure that doesn’t account for high traffic but I don’t think that would keep Hunter from driving or flying to Palo Alto to check in on little brother. Hell, they live 3 hrs from Fayetteville now so I’m not sure how much a deterrent driving is.

Either way, I assume he will land at Stanford or Arkansas which means ND will have to face him regardless.

Right. Stanford I get. Arkansas I get. Clemson, as you said, is Clemson. But Wisconsin and Penn State, instead of Notre Dame - for a tight end, and one who cares about academics, without any hometown/distance advantages - seem out of the blue.

Post Sandusky, I just assume anyone who chooses Ped State or puts them on any list is either a child rape enthusiast or an idiot that can’t use google.

Staying in state and will likely start day one...
I get it. Probably grew up a fan, and has a chance to be a hometown hero. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm sorry, but I can't say "good for him" or "nothing wrong with that". He had a chance to go to freaking Stanford and he chose Arkansas. One of the most prestigious schools in the world and he chose Arkansas. One of the schools that has a history of putting lots of tight ends into the NFL and he chose Arkansas. It would be like a kid choosing Ball State over Notre Dame. SMH

Arkansas has a good history of putting TE's in the league too, each starting TE was drafted in '15, '16, and '17. That is more than Stanford can say. That is not even including their best TE from this century, who is currently an All-Pro LT.

Stanford mainly had a decent run from the Harbaugh years, in '12 and '13.

Every kid doesn't want to go to Stanford, and they're not necessarily idiots because they choose to go elsewhere.

The kid's brother just left the school, and he was a solid TE there and was the Chargers starting TE until he got hurt this offseason. Maybe he's more comfortable being a 2 1/2 drive from home at a school that he personally knows can put players at his position into the league, than a school half-way across the country from that he can't even get a direct flight to, has ugly girls, a student body made up of dorks, and a non-existent fan base.

It certainly won't be the last time a kid turns down Stanford either.

You are correct. Their fans lay claim to the TE U moniker as well. I believe they’ve had two TEs win the Mackey Award.

Not only did Hunter Henry play at UA but his dad, Mark, was an OL there & the middle brother, Hayden, is currently a LB at UA.

The Henrys are a great family and their kids will likely be successful in whatever they choose at life. Mark is currently one of the teaching pastors at the church I belong to.

Doesn’t really look like his dad.

Arkansas offense has totally changed under Chad Morris. they are no longer a pro style offense but a total shotgun spread. He won't get the same development there now his brother got. It's a dumb choice likely pressured by family

not listed on the Arkansas 3 deep for TE. Currently on Scout Team and will likely redshirt
