FREAKING HUGE PICKUP for Tommy's offense. I can't wait to see how they look in the spring game, then we can all make way too many predictions on a relatively meaningless game.

Oh man, I forgot we actually get to see this dude play football in ND stadium in a couple of months. Nice.

My made up juxtaposition of Hartman and Rodgers actually had a somewhat serious point to it (though one guy here totally missed the idea.) The point is: When I see quarterbacks on the field in the heat of the games, some few of them just have "that look." It's a look that says: pressure? Bring it on! I've got this. A very few go even beyond that to: Hey! The more the better --- Bigger fun --- rock it. Rodgers has that when the game is really "On." AND, I've seen that same twinkle and smile in Hartman. I haven't seen quite THAT look in any Notre Dame QB for a very long time. If I was in the huddle with that sort of guy, I'd give it all I had and maybe a bit more. What I've seen in Hartman's on-field demeanor is rare. At least as much as the stats, that's why I'm fired up. A Joyful Assassin.

Quick question, out of curiosity who’s the last QB that you can recall that had that look? That seriousness and confidence?

Can’t express just how excited I am to watch next year’s team already. My expectations are always high, but now there’s a foundation to them!

Some people! I’ve got a nickname that’s stuck with me for the last 5 years (pornstar) unfortunately, haha. I had a high school kid that was in vocational classes, coming in to help in the afternoons. He (the clown) decided to superimpose mine and my wife’s face in some porn scene and share it with everyone. I didn’t even know that was possible at the time. SMH
Pictures turned into gifs then uploaded here or it didn’t happen

Jimmy Clausen (before he ever took a snap)
The furthest back I really remember was Quinn. I guess that’s who I would be thinking, but even that was such a long time ago. I remember Holiday some. It starts getting cloudy from there.

Concerning the "Look" in a Notre Dame Quarterback: Clausen in his last year had that look. I recall him bombing USC with Pete Carroll on the sideline, whose defense had positioned themselves in a bad coverage. Clausen ran by Carroll on his sideline turning to him and laughing shouting out to him "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" Carroll actually loved it and was chuckling. If you want to see a QB who had the "I can beat you" look etched in his face, watch Theisman's expressions. Montana too of course. ... just recently there is a short bit of a NFL TV clip which has Joe Burrow saying "Put it in my hands and it's over." As Muhammed Ali once famously said: If you can do it it ain't braggin'.

I’m with you! These are memories I’d have to google to remember unfortunately (my brother can recite any movie/football game he’s ever watched) but sometimes it just takes a little refresher. I was wondering about Burrow being that confident because admittedly I hadn’t watched him much. If that’s our Sammy boy then I’m more than happy to see what becomes. Could be a once in a lifetime season for ND that I’m looking forward too.

Yes. So do assholes like Manziel. Cockyness isn't the big deal, of course. You have to have the ICE to go along with the Devil.
