I'm usually right, and early before something's common knowledge. I could share the landry list but IDC.
Maybe I'm wrong about this one - I hope I am.
They're called "Koon hot takes" for a reason. How about all the times you got it wrong, like Greg Bryant? How about Gunner Kiel? How many players have been cursed by the "Bod Squad" tag? Brent, Redfield, Wimbush all suffered that fate. The only one to escape fading into obscurity was Jaylon, he was just too much of a freak. No, it's mch easier to point out the mistakes as oppose to the times the broken clock has been right. You were right like...one time about Longo, and I think the jury is still out on whether we're actually better off under Balis or not.
We got pretty manhandled by Clemson and Michigan, and there were plenty of success stories under Longo like Will Fuller. The players/families that were the most outspoken opponents to Longo also walked away from the university with the biggest egos and failed to make a big mark at the next level. I think the biggest impact has been position coaches and the Elko/Lea effect. Our defense is immensely better because of scheme and fundamentals, not improvements to strength or speed. Similarly our offensive line has struggled at times recently not because they're slower or weaker, but due to Quinn failing to fill Heistand's shoes. Obviously Longo had some health issues near the end, RIP, but that doesn't mean he wasn't successful with players that bought in.
