So we are gonna miss out on Lenzy again and ASB. We need three more WRs. Who are they gonna be?

I think the “need” is 4, not 5. The only way we were going to 5 is if we were going to land an elite 5th like ASB. So, I’m operating as 2 more. With that said, if we get Keys, I’m not all that concerned about WR. Very confident in Austin and we are running more 2 TE sets. It’d be 5 WR’s over 2 cycles, which even for a 3 WR offense is only one short.

Can I ask why? Keys IMO is slot only. Lenzy can play them all

Actually Lenzy in the slot would be lethal. Mardy Gilyard type player IMO
You know BK has done crap with slots when it's 2017 and we're still drawing comparisons to Gilyard. Lol

I appreciate the response. Sounds like we are doing fine then. Besides Keys who else are we in on at this point with the Porter decommit?

Yeah...I haven't understood why we have gotten any production at the slot receiver position in the BK offense. Thought that was perfect for CJ yet he can't get on the field. Lenzy would be fantastic in this role...if they used him as such.

None, and I'd certainly like to add some speed to this class at WR. So missing on all of the WR's remaining would be disappointing. And I wouldn't categorize that as a fine, that would be a miss at WR. More or less, I was just illustrating that the "numbers" need for WR is less than what some might have thought. And there are still some moving parts. What if we add Tremble on Thursday. Do we even need a 3rd WR? As we'll have brought in 4 TE's in the last 2 classes and 4WR's. So maybe the need goes to 2 for this class, with a 3rd being a luxury.

Essentially, it's two different conversations. Talent vs. Numbers. We need to add talent, so that might be a miss. But I'm not sure we need the numbers that some previously expected. So, if you can't land the talented players, and you don't need the numbers, you just have to wait and swing for the next class. Otherwise you are left with players that are taking up scholarships for multiple years, for no reason.

We're Chip Long offense now.

take this FWIW, but people are already making excuses for Lenzy's lack of production in HIGH SCHOOL

Added to the de-commitment and comments on twitter....I am just not seeing it for this kid. I hope he stays instate and takes one of Oregon's scholarships and excels in track.

If Notre Dame does not get Keys by Dec 22nd....there could be some more opportunity for a WR before the Feb signing date.

ND is not short enough at WR that they have to take a reach on Lenzy....speed is great and all...but it is still football. Hell Bracy could be the WR....now that's a football player

In regards to who else could they go after:

There's a ton of talent out there they can hop in on the end. Just like JOK, JGH and Armstrong last year.

Here's a kid from Chicagoland. Alec Pierce. 3*, 6-3/200 with a Nike rating of 112. Two time Illinois 1st team All State. Just committed to Cincy over the Academies, MAC and Ivy schools. These guys are everywhere.

I'd bet a stack Pierce gets snagged by a P5 by NSD.

He will be committing and signing on December 22nd.

Have to like where ND stands right now.

So I watched his film and I wasn't blown away. If I didn't know he was a 10.5 kind of guy id have just thought good athlete, not elite speed.

I guess you can't always tell how fast someone is in film because it's all relative, but I just wasn't blown away.

still hope he comes here because obviously the staff and rankings like him. Just didn't see it.

That play at 1:53 is amazing. Ultra athleticism on display.

Lenzy’s film is good. Front end loaded with all his big play in the first 3 minutes. Final 3.5 minutes is solid HS plays.

I find both Bracy and Gordon to have much more star content in their films.

One thing about Lenzy’s film is his speed really does standout. If he is well coached and 100% committed, he could be a very good P5 player. But there is an if in that question

His recovery at 1:53 doesn't look even possible. One of the most athletic plays i've ever seen by a recruit.
