Players who don't make grades are usually known but is that because guys like Mack publicly acknowledged it?

If it's academic, wouldn't the suspension be from the school before NCAA? Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think that ND's guidelines are more strict than the NCAA's.

Why is everything at ND a labyrinthine situation? There's rarely any knowledge, and when there is it's info that has to be sorted thru and deciphered.

Is it possible that Kevin is being held out until the Navy game so he can play the last 3 regular season games and the bowl game and still preserve a redshirt season? Or am I just thinking way too far out of the box?

So either the NCAA suspended him, decided hey it’s ND let’s not let this one get out and create bad publicity, to which ESPN said “there’s this mysterious NCAA suspension of a great athlete at ND, but it could paint the university and the football team in a bad light if we uncover what it was about so let’s allow them to sweep it under the rug. And oh yea Go Irish.” ORRRR ND suspended him and did what they have done 1000 times in the past- keep it secret and say %*^ off to everyone else because if the kid doesn’t say anything then the university certainly isn’t saying anything. I mean it truly could be either one...

If ND doesnt hurry up and get a WR that can catch a pass not being Claypool or a TE, ND wont be seeing much of a bowl game.

That must be the real reason Young transferred.

You've gotta sleep with some kids to get suspended for a year by the NCAA, and then afterwards they've waive any additional penalties. This seems more like a school enforced punishment.

ND was honest and transparent with the academic “scandal” in 2012 and 2013 and look how that turned out. I think all disciplinary action at ND will be shrouded in secrecy after that situation.

I thought he was practicing with the team? I also thought he was considered a good student.

Any update on Kevin Austin’s situation?
TIFWIT, but a source outside the Gug told me that the only reason Austin isn’t playing is because Avery Davis switched to #4 and they don’t want to risk having two guys with the same number on the field at the same time. They got away with it once (Pitt 2012) and don’t want to risk it happening again.

You have to be careful. There are people who will actually believe this.
