Hard to imagine Keys wouldn't qualify given how much time and effort the staff has put in on this kid. They are all over him.

Maybe the reason we haven't been inundated with Keys stories is because they've been helping him clear the hurdles / complete the checklist? That's sorta how it was with the NorCal guys, Crocker, McKenzie & Bracy.

I'll be shocked if Keys qualifies.

We need Porter or we are basically down to Cota and ASB.

I'm sure a few names committed to other schools will pop up.

That'd be interesting as they talk about academics quite a bit. Apparently that's all his mother cares about. So is that all for show?

I wouldn't mind Porter going to ASU tbh, I think we can afford to be picky about our receivers we take with already having Kevin Austin & Micah Jones committed. We have for next season...

2018 WR's
4* Freddy Canteen RS SR
4* Equanimeous St. Brown SR
4* CJ Sanders SR
4* Miles Boykin RS JR
FWO Chris Finke RS JR
4* Chase Claypool JR
3* Kevin Stepherson JR
4* Javon McKinley RS SO
3* Michael Young SO
3* Jafar Armstrong RS FR

2018 Recruits
.9940 5* Amon-Ra St. Brown - CA - FAR - 6/18/16 & 10/21/17
.9560 4* Kevin Austin - FL - FAR - 4/22/17 & 10/21/17
.9523 4* Chase Cota - OR - FAR - 7/31/15 & 4/22/17 & 9/9/17
.9139 4* Lawrence Keys III - LA - FAR - 11/18/17
.8755 4* Micah Jones - IL - 6/18/16 & 10/15/16 & 2/11/17 & 3/29/17 & 9/9/17
.8690 3* Geordon Porter - CA - FAR - 9/9/17

That's 12 players committed to being receivers at Notre Dame next season. Obviously, there's some movement with Equanimeous maybe going pro, maybe Canteen takes a medical, someone transfers, and Finke could go back to walk on. However, there might only be room for 1-2 more bodies and I think we have a great shot at St. Brown, Cota, and Keys III. I also think there are some recruits that are committed elsewhere that may need an offer and get one before all is said and done...

.9602 4* Jordyn Adams - NC - FAR - never visited but a stud (UNC)
.9498 4* Devonta Jason - LA - FAR - never visited but I bet he doesn't sign with KU
.9281 4* Anthony Schwartz - FL - FAR - we made his top 10 and UF is bad right now
.9199 4* Rondale Moore - KY - 4h20m - (UT) same HS as '19 DL Herron Jr, looking around
.9140 4* Joseph Scates - OH - 4h - Isn't a take at his faves Bama or OSU
.9098 4* Solomon Enis - AZ - FAR - Dad went to Penn St, don't know if they have room
.8999 4* Nikko Remigio - CA - FAR - slot receiver going to Cal
.8955 4* Cameron Brown - MO - 5h40m - As fast as Geordon, Nebraska commit, should offer

I think academics are important but I think he's short some requirements. Staff is still very high on him as a player which is why they're all over him.

Not saying it can't happen, have just been made to understand he's got work to do.

If they need to expand the board to replace Porter, Avon's Isaac Guerendo is the answer. He's committed to Wiscy but he's visited/camped and has 2-3 '19 teammates on ND's radar. 10.6 100m guy and fastest 40 at Irish Invasion.

Like MIA, I like Solomon Enis and Cam Brown too. No idea where ND is with them. Just saw Enis play a few weeks ago, he's a big bodied talent. Runs 11.0-11.1 100's. Brown is a 10.8 guy. 6-5, 3* Kory Taylor from OH is coming in this weekend, he's another 11.0-11.1 100m guy. At 6-5 that's special.

Also, the luxury of scoring an Alontae Taylor, Traiq Bracy or Joe Wilkins is they can flip to the other side of the ball if needed.

Another local kid that ND could get on late is Illinois' Samson Evans. He's a 6-0/200 ATH who tore up the Opening Chicago. 4.5's/40, not the top end of the others on this list though. 11.41/100m. He plays QB for his HS but will get a look at APB/Slot/DB for Iowa where he's committed. Good chance he's Mr. Football in Illinois, him team is undefeated in 6A. Had a very Zibby like HS career.

Comparison I'm hearing on Porter is he'd be a slightly faster, slightly better version of Chris Brown. I'd have no problem with that. Then go get ASB or steal Cota from Oregon.

OK, I've seen it confirmed elsewhere that he still has some academic work to do. Isn't looking to commit perhaps until signing day.

You pronounce Geordon just as it looks so the Geor in Geordon is the same as George.

I thought his dad's name was George so I agree with Ricochet

Is he even good? WRs from Cali are always overrated and he's not even like... rated, period.

I know Greg Biggins likes him. Has to learn route running but immediately can serve as a deep threat with his speed. Kid can really run. And ND really wants to get a speed receiver in this class.

Biggins also said Porter is a very hard working kid who by next spring when track season comes around will probably be running in the 10.4 range in the 100. Might also be a candidate for kick return duty.

I'm not crazy about his film, doesn't show toughness or aggression. I wonder how hell take to blocking in our trucking offense. but he sure can run. and our other 2 commits are big bodied, so it makes sense. id be ok with it I suppose.

We have plenty of big receivers. Even Michael Young plays big when it comes to blocking but we need a serious speed guy who can take the top off a defense.
