We got Divine help this weekend..

Perfect Weather, great atmosphere.. Us man handling his favorite team. His brother catching a TD.. We couldn't of asked for more..

If we don't get him we don't get him, but things did line up perfectly this weekend

Plus, there is the argument that Phil is really as good--or better--than whatever QB Southern Cal will be using, despite the rating services absolute confidence that the every 5-star California QB is the next Aaron Rodgers.

Although its not helpful that he's friends with one of those kids...

Cali QB's are notorious for being ranked high and falling out in college. I will take Phil over anyone in this QB class currently. I think he will playing on Sundays some day .

JT Daniels is a stud. I think Jurkovec is a stud. I hope he doesn't make his choice based on expected QB.

Either he wants ND or he wants the flash of USC.

I don't think he'll make a decision based on the expected QB, but I do think he will want to know that he's going to have a player back there, like he probably would at USC.

Phil is a selling point, and Wimbush made that sale's job a little easier on Saturday.

And the state is also notoriously good at producing great college and pro QB's. They pump them out, some exceed expectations, some don't.

I think he'd be very smart to strongly consider who's passing him the ball when making his decision... which he has. That's why ND, SC and Stanford are his final three. None have a present or long term QB concerns.

In regards to flash: There is this perception that everything about SC is flashy. But to sell against them is easy, the stadium isn't full unless ND comes to town and fills it or UCLA is good (as if) and the start of every game looks like a scrimmage, talking 15k-20k fans at kick off. Lastly, nobody sees you on tv because America east of the Rockies is passed out on the couch by the time they kick off. I guarantee you EVERY kid on SC was jealous of ND when they played that game Saturday night. THAT is what college football is at its best and LA will never produce that, it's not in its DNA.

If UCLA gets a coach that produces 9-3 seasons and the Rams continue to win... SC might have to move to San Diego.

Fair point.

Also good points. To clarify, what I meant was not putting all his eggs in a projected QBs basket. Any of the top programs that recruit OL and QB well will be able to use him. He's so good, he really just needs to decide what each school can offer him.

ND can offer him national exposure every week and a sold out stadium, on top of the education.

ISD reporting he didn't seem very enthusiastic on his visit, and they don't seem to like ND's chances. Said maybe he's just being low key, but his lack of excitement was noticeably.

ISD cares about visible excitement more than any other recruiting site/reporter I’ve seen.

Not saying it’s wrong, just a noticeable emphasis lol.

All I know is that Wiltfong is extremely accurate and typically will not change a crystal ball unless he's got something "substantial" from his sources.

If he thought ND might've pulled "slightly ahead" during a visit, he would certainly wait for the excitement of the visit to die down. I've heard him give his opinion of various recruits over the years where he would say something along the lines of "If you put a gun to my head, I think he chooses Team Y, but I'm not convinced enough to make me change my crystal ball from Team X.

Bottom line is that Wiltfong put a CB for St. Brown to USC back in July, something has happened to give him enough confidence for him to change it to ND despite his hesitancy to change CB's.

The trip probably confused things for him.

In their ultra-competitive world, it would have been neat and tidy if big brother 1 went to ND, Big brother 2 went to Stanford, USC crushed both, and ASB went there.

With ND just cleaning USC's clock, his decision got complicated.

Maybe Ohio State will jump back in the mix...

i thought he recently went to a more "at the moment" model in his predictions. instead of where he actually sees the end result.

Sapp was still the greatest reporter ever at waiting to make the call till he was 100%.

The literal anti-Loy in that he could give a f if it meant less click baits for the site. He delivered an A+ product the subscribers.

Judging body language is lazy reporting. It means absolutely nothing at the end of the day.

Mike Frank is such a downer, I wouldn't be all that excited to see him either.

Literally was going to say same thing.. No one wants to see Frank, and Brown could of been wearing all ND gear with his face painted green waving a ND flag and Frank would say "You know what, he was supporting his brother but his soul didn't look like he loved the idea of living in Indiana"

Sapp was the man. ND recruiting lost a lot when he left the game.

I don't get that at all.

He has a slight arrogance to him that is very different from the other brothers. I'm not convinced he really cares about academics... I think he thinks he is the best and will gravitate to what he perceives as being the best on the field.

Kids dont care about 4 for 40 when they are convinced they are going to play in the NFL. I think he ends up at a football factory.

Got that right, he's more about 4 for 100. (rec's and yds)

and ND is a football factory, just one that you need an A game in the classroom for.

I'm sure his parents won't mind him staying home. LAX and John Wayne gotta be in that wallet.

Well he mentioned in an article that in talking to the academic advisor (forgot his name) at ND he can get his degree from in ND in 3.5 years and he finds that very appealing. I don't think he thinks of academics any different from his brothers.
