He told Sampson that he would be going to ND even if BK and staff were gone. Hope Adebo stays on board, I would bet Herman goes after him.

Didn't an ND recruit not so long ago flush an Alabama letter? "Roll Toilet!"

Seems we all got pumped over that flush.

I don't need a flush and a gesture just a man's word.

Lol yup that was what I was referencing.

If you haven't checked out his Sr. Season highlights, check it out. He dominates against top tier Texas HS competition in every way. Blocking, route running, catching the ball and has good speed, moves and toughness. Considering he's an early enrollee, I'd say he has a chance to play in '17. Is Smythe back next year?

Yes but wright is going to push for snaps...idc what anyone says... Smythe has completely underachieved... Wisher can't catch... So Alizé detached and him inline in line

Smythe is a decent blocker and has pretty good hands but he's just flat-out slow. He's not much of a threat. I agree with your comment and would LOVE to see Alize split and Brock inline. I'm really looking forward to seeing our offense next year.

Acknowledged to 247 that Texas is recruiting him but he's 100% committed to ND. It sounds like our EE's are all wrapped up. Solid group of players coming in early.

Who are the EE's again?

Wright, Hainsey, Robertson and Holmes

Nice. Will be great to get them all into our strength and conditioning program. I'd say the biggest plus here is Robertson enrolling early. We need help at safety and from looking @ his tape and size, he may be able to contribute next year. Getting Hainsey in the weight room will be great as well although I'm sure he's all ready on a solid S&C program at IMG.

The Gug is fired up right now about Brock Wright.

ND absolutely loves this kid.

Third public commit from Irish Invasion, with more to come. That's what you want out of an event like that. Players coming to campus you want in your program, and committing them.

Brock Wright, Hunter Johnson, A.J. Epenesa, three of the names at the top of ND's board in 2017. Irish staff really wants Hunter next. A.J. won't decide anytime soon.
Quote:
Lots of confidence in the ND circle that the 2017 class will be special.

We'll see what happens.

They're confident that they'll be clicking on all cylinders as a staff after transitioning in four new coaches.

I found this post funny

I understand why people are excited to the solid start to the 2018 class but look how this played out. It's so damn early and when stuff like this gets thrown around it's ridiculous.

But honestly who knows if Hunter Johnson had a better relationship or actually well nevermind with Brian Kelly he might be in this class, if we hold onto Robert Beal, Kaindoh takes another visit, Donvan Jeter stays on board, Osiris flows his brother. So many weird things happend this class but that's why I never get excited about anything because it's just so damn early. 2018 is off to a nice start but people are hyping it up wayyy to much right now

To be fair, considering the season ND had, the recruiting class that is still in tack is pretty miraculous.

Excited for this young man. Also very interested to see if he can compete for PT next year. He's a very advanced blocker, compared to the guys on campus, when they were at similar stages.

In the future, if I'm an OC, I'm game planning for both Kmet and Wright to be on the field at the same time. Both are studs.

If he can block he will play. Lol. I hope they figure out how to pass the ball to TEs this year.

Hey. I think thats unfair to the staff. I'm sure they tried their best to get the ball to the TE....

Hardy har-har!! Just sayin' man.....I didn't know you were Lax's lawyer.

I am no ones lawyer. I am an engineer. You are new to the board and I like your optimism even it is sometimes misplaced. :)

You should learn that being objective is not the same as being negative.

Our TEs were not getting separation last year. It's hard to say how many times they could have been targeted last year (or were the primary receiver). AJ could create separation. Hope he hit the books and Brock gets some snaps.

Totally. I like Durham and he has pretty goo hands but he's just flat out slow. He' covered easily. He usually only catches the ball when he's totally unaccounted for by the defense.

Smythe is what I would consider an old school TE. Can block, has good hands and is a third down chain mover target. He will not stretch the field.
