Good spot for him.

From reading the article on 24/7, his connection with Denbrock played a big factor for him. Denbrock is the OC under Fickell, but has only produced average results in terms of offence efficiency. He has had a younger QB running the show (Desmond Ridder), whom statically, took a step back last year. But, year three in the system. There are bigger expectations for him this year.

There are only a few players returning from last years team that contributed meaningfully. Michael can come in and compete for the No. 2 job.

He could have done good things here. Disappointing decision by him.

Don’t blame him given how he (and the rest of the team) was being treated by Long. I think his big mistake was timing. But he’s a good guy by all accounts and I wish him success.

AND

it's not like he left them high and dry (in the future). His departure mid season opened the door for others in '19 and he was not going to be starter in '20.

Still, leaving Michigan week and having that game turn out like it did leaves some with a chapped azz.

Easy to see now that he was just a symptom. The infection would leave in December.

Very very excited, and not just because it’s a guy going from my favorite team to my next favorite team.

He should complement Alec Pierce and Jayshon Jackson really well. Pierce is a big guy that can get down the field. Stressing the defense with Young’s speed on the opposite side will be nice.

UC just needs to find a reliable possession guy to replace Deguara and they should be in business, especially with Ritter’s running ability on the table.

Had I taken the job that they eventually gave Papa Rees...

Pierce would have been in the '18 Class. Just sayin.

Of course, Mr. Skowronek would be at Purdue right now.

Do we know if MY was a specific target for Long? Just curious how he wound up being the only defector.

I think it was Lax who said had Long not been shown the door, there would have been more following Young into the portal.

Yeah, most people aren’t going to quit a team in the middle of the season for a few reasons. Even if you’ve got major issues with the coach, most are going to stick it out. But if he hadn’t been canned after the season, you would’ve seen an exodus on offense. Lots of transfers and early declarations.

It’s hard to understate how toxic the situation was, and there’s a reason Long’s career prospects went the way they did after he and ND parted ways.

That is him doing well for Cincci correct?
Nice TD.
Are we blaming his departure on our previous offensive coordinator?

We will always have the memory of him scoring a TD vs his hometown team LSU in the bowl game. I wish him well.

I'm an optimistic guy who prefers to not call out people when not necessary.

Yes and Chip Long was an asshole.

Looks like he parlayed his transfer to Cinci into a chance with the Colts. Not bad.
