With Pryor, I'm not so worried about the safety depth chart and rotation next year. CB though...

I'm interested to see if Gillman actually goes. I know its thought to be a foregone conclusion that he gone, but I read something in the past week that puts him in the 6-7th round.

That's about where I'd put him, seeing as he's lacking great measurables. Tbh, it wouldn't surprise me to see Jalen Elliot picked ahead of him. Alohi I think probably maxes out at the 5th round. And coming back for a 5th year won't change anything for him (if anything Jalen could possibly use the extra time).

But Hamilton and a rotation of Griffith/Pryor and DJ Brown sprinkled in here and there is not bad. Assuming Terry Joseph is still coaching them. If he leaves (as he has most places after a couple years) then who knows?

Terry Joseph has left one season before the coach was fired at every power 5 stop! That’s pretty amazing considering it takes foresight, intuition and stuff like that to move on.

2010-2011 Tennessee (2012 Derek Dooley fired)
2012-2013 Nebraska (2014 Bo Pelini fired)
2014-2016 Texas A&M (2017 Kevin Sumlin fired)
2017 North Carolina (2018 Larry Fedora fired)

That’s pretty remarkable that he’s been able to stay one step ahead of ever being fired. I think as long as BK wants to be the coach at ND then Terry Joseph should stick around for a few years. He owes it to the moving companies to stick around for a little bit. I mean, being a power 5 position coach at a top ten school is likely one of the best spots to be in. Unless someone offers him a DC job then I think he’ll stay for a while.

Is it crazy to think that this might happen? Especially if Long takes a HC job somewhere? I'm not saying that he'll be the next Bama DC or anything, but it's possible he could get poached, right?

Without diving any deeper into those teams on his resume, was he part of any elite defenses before coming to ND?

This has got to be a done deal at this point

I think this visit is a formality. His mother has never been to campus so they wanted to get her back prior to public decision. I'd assume it comes during the visit.

With Pryor (hopefully), the secondary should actually be pretty strong, right? At least the starters. Hamilton and Griffith are both studs, Pryor was ranked like 70th coming out so I'd assume he's a player (haven't seen him play). The good news is they're all young with at least 2 years left, assuming Hamilton leaves after his Jr year.

The safeties should be good, yes. But the corner situation is a little troubling

Not sure I'd go as far as "Griffith is a stud" because I'm not sure what you'd base that on? His highschool recruiting rankings?

Yeah, Hamilton is the stud of the group with Griffith and Pryor as "let's see what they can do" category.

Crawford has barely played and Pride has been disappointing.

So has Elliot and Alohi. I'll take the 2020 secondary as a whole, easily.

2020 secondary being:

S: Hamilton, Griffith, maybe Prior
and
CB: Bracy and...
Vaughn? Cam Hart? KJ Wallace?

I know this years crew hasn’t quite lived up to the hype, but... yikes.

I for one think Isaiah can bring a ton to this team. On the field and in meeting rooms.

Welcome to ND!

Good addition. Regardless of how it shakes out, this is best for the program.

Will be interesting to see how Griffith responds to this and the new depth chart next yea, a good prospect struggling to find a position in South Bend.

This is awesome.

I figured yesterday sealed the deal for him. I bet the stadium was out of control when Book scored the TD and then when Hamilton got the int. And it was probably a party the rest of the night.

I'm sure we'll hear he was already committed (or had at least decided he was picking ND) but didn't want to make it official until he and ND put the "Mom officially gives her stamp of approval / Co-commits along with her son" spin on it.
