this info was following his visit on march 19th

"Their coaches had been reaching out to me lately and I wanted to check it out, see what all the hype was about," Burns said. "When I went up, the people stood out to me as the highlight of the trip. I couldn't give anybody a definite answer right now but it's possible that I'll go back again."

"Miami is my top school so anyone else, that's who they get compared to at this point," Burns said. "I just know some of the players down there and I've heard their perspective on everything. I see the difference in some of them already and that's exciting."

"There are a lot of guys I look up to but I can't make an honest comparison with them," Burns said. "If I could only choose one word for myself, it would be explosive. That's the type of runner I am and it takes pressure off the guys around me. I'm working on my knowledge of the game, where I'm supposed to be at certain times when we throw the ball."
Burns hasn't reached the 500 yard mark in any of his three seasons (from a miami insider He didn't start as a freshman but he got a good amount of playing time. He was the next two years but never really got on a roll. He never missed a whole season but injuries did cause him to miss games on a couple occasions. There were other times where I heard they just didn't play him for some reason. He's been a very curious situation to follow.)
"This is the year, the time that I get to show out and I got to," Burns said. "I've had some injuries and sometimes I got in my own way. I'm doing a lot of strength training to make sure I'm at my best as a senior."

And we see just how well Theus did in Georgia. Not bad, but he certainly didn't impress with the hype coming out of HS

Not even 500 yards is weird.

the word on the street is his offers are based on Ben Koyack potential and not on what he has done...injuries, some "issues" and didn't play in some games even when he wasn't hurt....i mean they are a top football school in florida but sitting a 4* rb....sounds like something is strange there but is one of the top targets for us at RB

Agree Theus had a good career, but not great all American career. If he had HH coaching him he would have been a first round pick ;)

Watching his tape, he has the skills to become a big time back.

Daelin Hayes springs to mind, not much HS tape but plenty of Koyack

Working on where I'm supposed to be when passing? They running a BVG offense?

Reading between the lines and only MO, but I take his performance to date and statements above as a lack of commitment to his team and making himself better. I'll pass.

Scout: ND Jr. Day “surpassed all expectations.” Planning to return for II and hoping to bring mom. On track to EE. They believe ND could flip him

Notre Dame is the school that has been linked the most to Gulliver Prep three-star RB Robert Burns the past few months, but the Hurricanes commit said Friday that he has yet to set a date for a return trip to South Bend after visiting for campus a Junior Day back in March. While that might spell good news for Miami, a trip to Notre Dame hasn’t been completely ruled out by Burns. Still, he was at the pool party with a number of other commits and remains solid on his pledge to the Hurricanes.

Told Andrew Ivins that he's going to OV for the Miami game. Though he's still "solid" in his pledge.

No way I pay for that trip. Depth Char's solid enough that one of your '16 RB's spent his first day of practice at slot.

Why would we pay for a kid from Miami, who is committed to Miami to come visit Notre Dame when we play Miami? Never like doing that after we did it with a USC recruit who was on the sidelines recruiting for USC.

Ivins doesn't know if he's a take. Maybe he's not with Stepp already committed and maybe going after another back in 2018

It's that much an outside the box theory. Kick the butt of the team you are playing and impress the recruit. We just failed to do that against USC. There is also a distinct difference in that there won't be a lot of other Miami recruits at this game for one to recruit, if they were inclined to do so.

Holmes is my man at RB.

Same here. With our current RB situation and commits and small amount of scholarships left, I would think that taking a RB would be a mistake. If staff wants him though I always trust staff
