So, the the rumored number of o-linemen the staff is taking this cycle is 5. We currently have two in the fold in Josh Lugg and Dillon Gibbons. Tyler Beach was offered over the weekend and some think he will be Irish, Foster Sarell is a 5:s: talent and is visiting soon, and some think Robert Hainsey will be offered during his visit and could commit on the spot.

I will never question an offer to an o-lineman as long as HH is the position coach. So if HH wants Beach and Hainsey then I want him on the team too. But my question is, what happens if Austin Jackson, Trey Smith, Jedrick Wills, or Wyatt Davis wants in and we already have our 5? Because it is a possibility that we could have 5 o-line commits by June

I've seen a lot of positive things but nothing close to this. Can you share where you read this? This would be fantastic

Its really just speculation. He was supposed to visit for the spring game but he moved up his visit to today. So that has to be a positive development for Notre Dame as you could think that he is moving up his visit so he can secure a spot ASAP. And the track record of HH plays an advantage for Notre Dame as well; he usually gets who he wants.

Why move up your visit a few weeks? Unless he is taking the SAT or has something else going on the weekend of the spring game, I cannot think of many reasons why he would not only move up his visit, but he is visiting on a Tuesday.

Sorry if I got your hopes up, but a kid must be really interested in Notre Dame if he is taking a mid-week visit on his own dime.

tj at II commented Harry wants 5 OL, 2 pure OT, a swing guy, 1 interior then best after that. There are two OL in particular Harry really wants but tj did not say who.

I hadn't heard any speculation on the breakdown so this is very encouraging. You can argue and debate on who's the best, what position they will or should play but one thing that cannot be argued is Hainsey on paper is the most versatile guy in this class.

247 Comp: ..... :s::s::s::s: ..... #3 OG ...... #69 OA ..... .9663 rating

247: .............. :s::s::s::s: ..... #3 OG ...... #104 OA ...... 94 rating
Rivals: ........... :s::s::s::s: ......#8 OT .......#56 OA ........ 5.9 rating
Scout: ........... :s::s::s::s: ...... #14 OT .... #102 OA
ESPN: ............ :s::s::s::s: ......#1 OG ...... #78 OA ........ 83 rating

I'd like to see him take the swing position and let HH go find a 6-4, 325lb road grader at guard. I see Wills as that guy but maybe he is set on playing LT? Personally, I'd probably have to fail at LT before moving inside. I don't know if HH could talk me out of my dream when I could go to UK or many other P5 schools and start at tackle my 2nd or 3rd year like Wills is looking at. Eventually this loaded roster will drive away very good players who want to play early and not risk getting lost in the shuffle. That's not a good or bad thing, it's just a reality.

Dillon Gibbons might already be that guy. I would guess Willis is one of the two guys Harry really wants

Wondering how his name got butchered in the title. Did I miss something? Is this an inside joke?

Edit: Guessing Ironman just screwed up when he was offering (Offer) to the title. Accidentally changed his last name to Gainsay instead of Hainsey. Autocorrect perhaps?

I suppose I stand alone but I'd rather have Hainsey opposed to Beach and if Hainsey were to commit this weekend, I'd put the Beach deal on hold.

Lugg, Gibbons, and Hainsey is a great start to this OL class. I'd just like to see where we stand after Sarell and Smith visit this summer.

Beach is very stiff in watching his film IMO, I really don't understand the McG comparison. Outside of being tall, they're not very similar. Obviously just my opinion from watching film.

He's more like Elmer, a tall dude who bends at the waist rather than his knees. He's a jumbo guard just like Elmer was I'd say. I don't think he's athletic enough to be a tackle.

the thing I love about the way Coach Hiestand recruits is he seems to be very upfront with all of his guys. I think they all leave knowing what to expect, where they stand in regards to his board, and knowing if they want on the train when is the right time to do it.

We would be in serious trouble if he left for whatever reason.

Over at II, tj made the comment Hainsey is close with Tony Jones Jr and another PA commit. Looks like Spencer Perry is a friend as well

We already jumped into the top 5 for recruiting class after this weekend. Let's keep the train going.

I'm predicting a Good Friday commit just in time for him to relax and enjoy his Easter weekend.

That would be a good Friday...along with remembering Jesus' crucifixion.

Is this trending towards the good guys? I think MSU was leader up until his visit.

I'm thinking/hoping so. Tony Jones is his roommate at IMG and he is good friends with Spencer Perry. After his visit, he tweeted "stay tuned this week..." so that makes me believe his visit to Notre Dame made him realize where he wants to go to school; whether that is Notre Dame or somewhere else, I guess we'll just have to find out.

Also, I mentioned this earlier, he was supposed to visit for the spring game so something/someone must have made him move his visit up a whole month. I wonder if BK and HH are telling some of these kids that the train is leaving so get on or get lost.

Also, do any of the sites have a post-visit update on him? I haven't seen anything

Whoa, would really keep the OL train rolling. I hope he commits soon. IDK anything about his MSU visit but seemed to like the ND one he had last week.

I believe he had visited MSU and PSU 5 separate times. He visited MSU last week too and I believe OSU.

If Hainsey goes Irish, I think it's safe to say the Western PA movement is a real thing and not just a coincidence of Lugg and the CC guys.

I wonder if they're still after Donovan Jeter from Beaver Falls after getting Hinish's commitment?
