Kirby Smart does nothing for Eason...

Mark Richt at Miami does and he gets a year (maybe two but I doubt it) behind Kayaa to develop.

Sweet situation for all. QB U could be back real quick.

Absolutely. MR is a great get for Miami. Said it already in the coach change thread.

Rumors are that Will Grier is leaving Florida. That could have a major impact on Eason.

I'll take Richt 1000x over at the U instead of Charlie Strong. Charlie had the Ville playing with the big boys because of the kids he pulled out of South Florida. I don't want that man anywhere near South Beach.

I actually think an improved Miami is good for the ACC, bad for the SEC, good for us.

I do too. Hope they get it going again starting in '18 if ya know what I mean.

Agreed but there's no need to give Miami Eason!

Don't get me wrong bro... I hope he goes to the U of Manitoba on a full ride for curling. I wish nothing but the best for him in some sport I don't watch if he's not going to South Bend.

would be great for Richt to poach him as long as he doesn't kick our rear when we meet on the field.

Golden already had a 4 star QB in the fold:
Jack Allison, Palmetto, Pro-Style Quarterback
Kid has been holding the Miami recruiting class together, might be kind of harsh to go all out for Eason. be interesting to see how Richt handles this. I'd bet he'd keep it classy and not recruit him and Eason will be a Bulldog

Classy does't keep you employed. Wins do.

I'm with Dublin. I bet that is what Richt does.

And that is why he is not at GA anymore...

You want to know when you have the #1 college QB crew in CFB?

When the #1 QB in HS who grew up an ND fans says this...

“They have (freshman) Brandon Wimbush, who I saw at the Under Armour camp last year,” Eason said. “He’s got a cannon, and he can run. I wanted to go to a place where I can start early and play early. When I see Wimbush at Notre Dame and a couple of the other guys they have, I think it would be a little harder to play early there than it would be at the University of Georgia.”

From Tyler James' story @ NDInsider. Link below:

Five-star QB Jacob Eason chose to not follow Notre Dame legacy - Notre Dame Insider: Recruiting

Much respect to Eason for owning that publicly. Our QB depth chart is easily the most terrifying in the nation.

Lets hope it stays that way. I really hope Wimbush is willing to be patient.

Another funny twist to the ND v. UGA QB recruiting battles. Nick Robinson, a local kid from here at JSerra Catholic in San Juan Capistrano was offered a PWO at QB last year by the Irish and was expected to attend. Robinson grew up an Irish fan and it seemed like he would take the spot. Georgia comes in late and offers the same PWO status. Word is he chose UGA because he thought he would challenge for playing time vs. the probable outcome at ND. He might just do that with an injury or two. He was the co-mvp of the Trinity League last year with Josh Rosen. If only he could have seen Eason heading there on his heels...

That's great to hear from top players. And just think Sanford has only been here one year.
