I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer but I haven’t seen much good news outside of O-line recruiting. We seem directionless right now at QB, RB and WR. It feels like we’re getting outworked by UT with Nana and Watson. Nick Cross and Kyle Hamilton are trending away. We lost Sampson James to OSU even though we can promise immediate playing time and they have multiple 5* backs on the roster. We’re starting to offer a bunch of projects at DE. It just feels like we’ve got no mojo right now whereas after our Junior Day a few months ago it felt like we were on fire.
RB couldn't be any further from the truth. They lead for Mellusi and APB Kyren Williams. They have Christon's full attention (thank goodness), there's a lot going on with Zach Charbonnet that we don't hear about because he's doesn't play the recruiting games by the rules and ND is in contact with John Bivens and that will go from 0-100 in 1 second if they pull the trigger.
QB seems directionless but they are evaluating and working back channels. It' not like the staff that brought in 13 guys for tryouts last year, all of a sudden doesn't have a plan a year later. They have a ton of options and have another Alter kid in Bazelak that could also go from 0-100 in a blink.
WR is gonna be tough after that haul last year. It's also not ass important because of either. Cornelius Johnson seems like a lean, John Metchie likes ND, & while a lot of top of the baord guys don't seem overly interested in ND, getting local guys like Eli Pancol, Tre Mosley, a hand full of other 3.5+ star recruits to jump on board shouldn't be tough. Watch of for Courtney Jackson from Pittsburgh, a 1900 yd receiver from Gateway. Add to this, the 2020 class for ND at WR is a lot like the '19 OL. There are very clear leans that ND is way out on front for. I knew the '19 OL class was going to be stellar, I feel the same way for the '20 WR class
The Safeties I covered above, get Ajavon and what ele do they really need? The roster is stacked with young players.
