Boy, did he have an insane finish to the season. 4.5 sacks over the last 3 games. Looking forward to a full season of him as a starter in 2020.

The D-Line talent and depth is insane. Pay Elston all the money.

Hopefully BK worked increases in assistant pay into his new contract. Those guys need to be kept

ND’s second string would be one of the better defensive lines in the country. It’s a far cry from the post-Tuitt/Nix days of late Diaco and BVG. Heck even the 2012 DL couldn’t touch this depth.

I wonder who’ll be in the two deep? Justin and Ovie? Maybe Foskey and Bothello?

I think you’ll see a lot of guys gets reps but I’d be surprised if Foskey and to a lesser extent Botelho don’t play quite a bit. Hayes/Justin/Botelho with Ade/Foskey

This for sure

Elston being a Michigan alum always worries me him leaving for them.

A head coaching job would be understandable

Great news. "Possible first round pick" is a stretch, though.

Honestly, I think he'll be the biggest "star" on the line next year. And that's considering Daelin coming back (who I also think is going to hungry for revenge/nfl paycheck).

That's excellent, though I guess I hadn't even considered the possibility he might leave.

The TFL that he had when the UNC RB tried to bounce it outside was unreal. He was really good tonight.

I loved that play and I'm glad he got a shout out from Herbie and Fowler. Dudes gonna be making some money next year playing like this.

They sure changed their tone from the beginning of the game. You'd have thought that ND had no chance to stop the UNC offense.

This was an odd thing to see on ND's Football Twitter lol

2nd week in a row with a great play in space. This year has really solidified him as one of my favorite players ever.

So this is more confirmation that the staff has given up on getting or flipping any of the top DE prospects in this class, huh?

Not to call anyone out, (in quoting a 5yr old post) but his development shows that recruiting ranks aren't everything.

For sure, recruiting really means nothing once a player gets on campus. It's a barometer of what an athlete MIGHT do at the next level, but it all means nothing if a 5 star never reaches his potential or if a 3 star becomes an All American. Some people hold onto those stars like they're Nostradamus and are guarantees of ability, motivation, and intelligence. I'd love to see a study done on how accurate scouts really are in the end.
