Funny how things change in a month. September 1st ---- Book can run the offense better but ND cannot contend for the playoffs with him.

October 8th --- Holy shit if hes out our playoff hopes are done.

Very true. I never thought he wasn't a good QB but honestly didn't think he would be this year's savior. Very impressed so far. Even vs VTech, I thought he bounced back well in the 2nd half.

Love the uniform shaming on Chief for a mistake on Twitter yet we’re glad to skip over Book for possibly putting himself in a compromising position.

Knowing what we know about how ND handles even the most minor academic issues, coupled with the fact that there appears to be no issue with Book’s standing, what is there to be upset with Book about? If he’s not even being punished by ND, the rush to judgement on the reporting seems to be the clear issue here.

good leader, makes it easier on the OL, WRs/TEs, and the D, is surgical short to medium, is great keeping his eyes down field, evades nicely, and has enough legs to do what's necessary.

i think folks fell in love with BWs stud running and his potential, while dismissing someone they've never seen because of his assumed lack of skill.

just wait till he improves on long ball timing with his receivers. i'm not saying he will become long-ball-Book, but he will improve now that he's getting 1st team reps in practice and in-game.

I think it's simpler than that.
We don't even know what, if anything Book did.
We do know ND academia is a hammer, so if he did do something, he'll get punished harder than other P5 student athlete.
We also know that Chief jumped the gun. In his defense, he didn't name names. But, he should have waited for more info. He just wanted to be the first and get the clicks.

I think most didn't think he can throw very far. Saturday proved that's not the case at all. He has a big arm but needs to work on his touch and timing. I think it'll get better, though.

after watching some tape, receivers need to be able to separate themselves and we wouldn't be talking about Ian and his inabilities.

Pointless fact of the day:

Ian Book has run 426 plays as Notre Dame's starting quarterback.

There have been 247 runs (58%) and 179 passes (42%).

The mix for Everett Golson, through 426 plays in 2012? 247 runs and 179 passes. #NDFB

I broke down all the incompletions he had yesterday in this thread. Some were on him, some on the WRs, some because he was getting pounded by the D. IMO, he's got enough arm, and will improve on long touch and timing with WRs. The fact he was still 71% is more than enough. He's also the first QB we've had in a while that's top 15 in QB rating and total QBR.

some were definitely on book, but there are some on WRs. some are ? where the receivers zagged after book was already in the throwing motion. bad route? I think 50+% of it will be worked out with more reps and getting better with timing and routes.

this is one are i'm not going to pick at Book on. he's only a three game starter..

the last big scare like this was the Mike Elko thread rumours and that all turned out well.

It’s ND football. We should expect something like this.

HTML:

Jude from OFD. Should’ve cited him. My bad.

Keeping with the ND way:

No citation in your bib. You are found guilty of plagiarism in the court of social media. You're suspended from IE until the 2019 season or you can transfer to NDNation and post immediately.

Also, the 1988 championship has been vacated.

That's cruel and unusual punishment!
Take the suspension, Irishize

No thanks on the NDN. Don’t worry, I’ve got friends in low places.

Soooooo....... Sorry if this is annoying, but after reading all the previous posts, and catching up this morning, I am left confused.

Is there actually an issue???

Was it just awful reporting by Bar Stool Chief???

Should we be extremely worried still??????

(I'm guessing the answer is, "we don't know", but im kinda freaking out over here, so i figured id ask ha)

the weekly noon presser? its at noon.

I've just decided to switch our Friday schedule to Monday, which means that the test we take each Friday on what we learned during the week will now take place on Monday before we've learned it. But since today is Tuesday, it doesn't matter in the slightest.

I don't know why, but it made me think of this...

There was, but the rumors all seem to agree that the issue wasn't as big a deal as Chief made it seem, and that Ian probably wasn't even involved. He heard about a transgression, and assumed that Ian was connected simply by proximity, and that there would be an extreme punishment.

Was it just awful reporting by Bar Stool Chief???

I would say irresponsible. He knew something happened, but started a panic by not waiting for a clarification on whether it was a 'big thing' or not.

Should we be extremely worried still??????

All sources seem to have come to the "Don't Worry" and "Much Ado about Nothing" conclusion last night, but this is ND, so always keep your guard up lol.
