I know we have fought the battle of stars for players but look at his offer list. It is not promising at all for me.

Guys like Jennings are how Virginia Tech made their living for years. The 757 isn't under-scouted anymore but there are other areas that still are. In general, the Carolinas and Virginia still tend to have an abundance of "late blooming" or under-scouted talent because of a lack of coaching, monetary investment in high school football programs, and community care/hype train.
I also doubt he's a lock even if we're ready to accept his commitment if Mike London is on the case for UVA, he's a very good recruiter.

What the heck does this mean lol
Guessing we were slow playing, and now that we've struck out with some others, we're fast playing.
No we were never slow playing him. We wanted him for safety but his preference has been WR first and other schools have offered him to play WR. Now I think we value his athleticism and upside so much we'd take him as an athlete with the understanding he'll be given an opportunity at WR.
IMO, same thing. We offered him at S, he didn't bite, we lost out on others, now we remove the S tag.
That doesn't make any sense. Our need is safety not WR. If we struck out at WR then it might make sense but we have plenty of receivers. And we still have several prospects on the board at safety.
Telling him what he wants to hear...it's not any different than what happens every year with several recruits
However, the news surrounding Beatty was not the only thing Jennings learned this past week. The playmaker also found out that Notre Dame is now recruiting him as an athlete and not just a defensive back.
“It doesn't change drastically but it gives me more of an open mind about them.”
With 20 days until signing day Jennings could be making his decision quick.
“I would like to make that announcement not too long after that last official.”
Perhaps too late but nice to hear this. He'd be a welcome late add to this class. From ISD
