Has he every broken a tackle? Literally, one tackle? I've never seen someone so tackleable, let alone a #1 player at his position.

Good for him. He did stick it out and remained part of the team. I wish him the best, who knows, maybe this will give him a boost of confidence going into Clemson prep.

Yes. Watch the MSU game from 2017.

Actually the last few games of the season I do remember him breaking more and more tackles surprisingly. One play in particular sticks out to me where he was hit behind the line of scrimmage but did not go down, bounced off of a few other would be tacklers and got like an 8 yard gain. might have been the F$U game...

Rarely broke tackles, rarely fought his way to first downs, not even close to dominant blocker, and was fairly average at contesting balls. His athleticism will make some team take a chance on him and he does make highlight reel catches from time to time but in most facets his body of work has been fairly underwhelming.

Good luck Mack at the NFL level. You set a good example for the others to work hard even though things didn’t always go as you expected.

Did he get his degree? I would assume he's on track, but the dude had a weird career here, so who knows.

I respect that more than anything .... Things were VERY rough for him at times, and he didnt pack up and ship out, he fought through and had a great last year!

Congrats to the kid!

He’s been on campus for 7 semesters plus 4 summer semesters. If he didn’t graduate this winter then maybe he’s a class or two away from graduation this spring. Don’t know how NFL Draft and workouts work with the spring semester of senior year. Do some kids stay in school during that time? I imagine it’s difficult to get to classes. I really hope Alize gets his degree. He’s worked really hard for it.

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/alize-mack?id=32194d41-4322-0396-46e1-546529e841d5

Overview
Tape shows a player who loves to get into routes and become a target, but also who shies away from the physical requirements asked of him in the run game. Mack's draft projection will likely be tied directly to how teams see him as a matchup tight end. While he has some straight-line speed, he isn't that dynamic as a route-runner and might not have much impact beyond first-level routes.

Strengths
Very comfortable working from the slot
Has athletic ability to become a much better move blocker if he's willing to get his nose dirty
Comes off the snap with very good early push into his routes
Carries good straight-line speed and should run well at the combine
Shows ability to track and make impressive body adjustments to haul it in
Good pluck-and-tuck ball skills when throws are wide of his frame
Has necessary hand quickness when throws are put on top of him out of breaks
Can absorb contact and finish the catch in traffic

Weaknesses
Has some hip tightness that limits sharpness of breaks and stride length
Upright into breaks and lacks suddenness to open to his quarterback on comebacks
Not much shake as an open-field runner after the catch
Lacks agility to elude defensive backs looking to chop his legs out from under him
Inconsistent avoiding forceful route redirection
Disappointing drop rate over final two collegiate seasons
Positioning and footwork as a blocker leave much to be desired
Fails to look for and find work as second-level blocker

A glowing column on Alizé today in The Athletic by Larry Holder. Some things we already knew, a few others not to this level of detail.

“At the end of the day, I’m a simple guy,” Mack said. “I’m a very simple guy. I love to have fun. I’m all about family. I’m all about team. You’re 18 years old, 19 years old and school, I just struggled. I struggled early on my freshman year and it carried over and I missed my sophomore season. And not cleaning up the weight room, maybe some other schools it might not have been that severe as far as the punishment goes. But at Notre Dame, the standards are higher there.

“I’m so glad that I went there because it allowed me to grow as a man. I think it’s definitely going to pay off in the long run in terms of life more so than just football.”

I like to see that fire in him. It's possible he could be a better Pro than Collegian player, due to not having to worry about school and focusing solely on football.

What a couple of knuckleheads. Throw punches at a helmet. That won't hurt the hand and then Mack takes his helmet off! Keep it on tough guy. lol

Love to see a little passion there....mixing it up during the dog-days...happens often.

I had teammates scrapping almost daily during the two-a-days in August. I don't think it's that surprising, especially when the pads are on for the first day or two, and people are itching to hit.

Click bait tweet. If anything, it's showing those men letting their passion out.

From saintswire.usatoday.com

"Mack struggled with an undisclosed injury during Saints training camp, missing a few preseason games and extensive practice time. He’s a good candidate to land on the practice squad if he clears waivers, which is likely given his late-round draft status."
