“At the end of the day, I’m a simple guy,” Mack said. “I’m a very simple guy. I love to have fun. I’m all about family. I’m all about team. You’re 18 years old, 19 years old and school, I just struggled. I struggled early on my freshman year and it carried over and I missed my sophomore season. And not cleaning up the weight room, maybe some other schools it might not have been that severe as far as the punishment goes. But at Notre Dame, the standards are higher there.
“I’m so glad that I went there because it allowed me to grow as a man. I think it’s definitely going to pay off in the long run in terms of life more so than just football.”
