I've watched a lot of tape...best I've ever seen out of HS TE. Someone please point out better, love to see those highlights.

He would start on an NFL team by week 6.

You definitely win the NDSean Hyperbole Award for this year lol.

With all I've read and with his potential I see this kid starting midseason.

I don't see him being a better run blocker than Smythe by week 6. He's gonna play a lot and in some games maybe more snaps than Smythe. It's one of those situations where being a starter doesn't necessarily mean more playing time.

If Smythe is the better blocker, why wouldn't he play more snaps?

I think he will early and overall. I think there might be a game or few where AJ gets more snaps if he's as good as we think.

But also, if ND is up as much as we hope this year, they will be controlling the game on the ground and burning clock which plays into Smythe's favor.

I just think after seeing him last year, he may be a once in a generation player and I've already gone on record in the 5 Fearless PRedictions thread that he's only gonna be here 3 years and that's WITH Malik... the dual threat QB who can't throw.

if we assume AJ is an elite pass catcher, I don't think he has to be a better blocker than DS. He just needs to block at an acceptable level to play. So long as he doesn't whiff on assignments he's going to be on the field in some capacity. If DS is mowing people over he get plent of time as well.

NDCrusader, check out the videos from this last practice. There was a Greg Bryant sighting, lol. Pretty hard to keep track of everyone. Apparently it is tradition to switch numbers for that practice.

The best thing with having the mobile qb with multiple tight end sets will allow us to actually have that up tempo offense

You scared the beejesus out of me with the sexual assault story going around that might have involved freshmen. I am sending you a bill for a bottle of whisky.

Same here. We should really close the '15 profiles until the season starts...

more apologies. take 2 aspirin, or 5 shots.

I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that at the end of his career. AJ will be one of the top TE's in ND history. The kid is an athlete at the position. And in this offense with a QB like MZ athe helm for a bit. This kid is gonna put up some serious #'s.

I'm on the same limb

I believe Alize will be one of the most frustrating players this season.. At times he will show signs of greatness but he is so long and still coming into his own with blocking schemes that it is possible he might not even have a catch in multiple games

Why yes Bifftrotter, I most certainly am.

So sorry I missed this, I don't know what I was thinking, between my spa appointment and my manicure, while loafing in my Doc Martins!

Hey, where did you get the picture of my second oldest son, Bifftrotter, Jr."

Saw he dropped a pass early in the game. Was he in the doghouse the rest of the way? I was at the game and don't know all the player numbers yet so I don't know for sure either way.

He was in the game after that. Just didn't see a target. Noticed him on a couple routes and blocking decently well a couple times.

Doubtful. He came back on the field a few times after that. Game was such that we ran the ball a lot. The other Tight Ends are surely more advanced in the blocking department. We have a pretty great cast there. I'm sure he will see more action...
