He’s got size but that’s about it. This doesn’t seem like a well thought out plan.
I've read that it's a weak receiver draft. One of the reasons Dallas traded for Cooper.

Was his name put in for feedback and if so, do we know what he got? Because at first this seems kind of shocking, but I wonder if it was like Love where his feedback on things to improve was basically physical traits and not really something he can work on with another year in college.
He did get feedback, and his prediction was higher than expected.
I want him back but if he was a cold stone size, hed be a "like it", not a love it, or gotta have it.
Kevin Austin needs to play. Just like Dexter needed to play in 2017 and 2016 but didn't.
These grades have me wondering who gives them and why? Is ESPN's fat head Mel Kiper the main assault on our up and coming guys?

You either get a potential first round grade, potential second round grade, or recommendation to stay in school. Boykin obviously did not get the first two.
I think he's a UDFA at best.

The Committee is comprised of senior personnel evaluators from the NFL’s clubs, together with directors from the League’s two sanctioned scouting organizations (National Football Scouting and BLESTO).
I think Boykin will be the best NFL wideout ND has produced in the 2000's.
only if he goes to a team that strongly uses a big slot.
i hope he excels but being better than Tate or Fuller is a tall order given his lack of speed.

I think Boykin will be the fourth best NFL wideout ND has produced in the 2000's.
I dunno. I agree Boykin probably isn't going to do much to improve his draft stock by coming back next year, but I'm less concerned about that than I am about what he'd mean for Notre Dame.
We talk ourselves into how guys leaving is fine, makes room for young talent, next man in and all that. But in many cases a proven fifth-year senior is more valuable than a "maybe" sophomore, even if they're not as "talented." (Look at what Tranquil did for us this year).
Maybe more importantly, our team next year will need veteran leaders, and Boykin is poised to be one in a way not many others on our offense are. We saw what happened in 2016 when we lost a bunch of quality guys and no one really stepped up in the locker room. I'm worried about that for next year. Boykin would help. That plus his general competence as a wide receiver, I think we're better off with him than without him and - selfishly, I admit - I'd much rather he stay.
Yeah but here is my concern especially knowing Kelly to show loyalty towards older guys. He gives Boykin the starting role next year even though Kevin Austin shows out and plays better in camp. Austin gets limited snaps again next year and Boykin gets the majority, austin then decides to transfer because of lack of playing time.
I’d rather Boykin go, because I think the young guys getting more snaps next year will be better for our program in the long run
Or, Boykin goes. McKinley transfers (b/c he presumably wants to play at some point). Then Austin gets in trouble again in the spring and our WR is who, exactly?
Bird in the hand, my friend.
You still have claypool, finke, Michael young, lenzy, keys, Wilkins, tremble is a stretch TE WR, Micah jones, plus the freshman coming in rahman, hart. That’s 10 guys plenty of depth, Michael young is another guy who needs more touches

Yes, we have lots of WRs on the roster. Boykin, right now anyway, is the best and most experienced. (He also brings something different to our offense than most of those guys, who are small/fast types).
I agree Austin and Young (and probably some of the others) need more touches. But that doesn't mean we're better off without Boykin. We just need to rotate our WRs more.
