I think that's what he's saying...half the players on the team thought they didn't need to bust their ass to win because of a culture created during the Manziel era where busting their ass wasn't necessary to win games.

its ridiculous for allen to think the program was gonna be in good shape after JF left and they lost 5 OL to the NFL. He should never have committed.

It's one thing to know that it's going to take work. I'm sure Allen knew it would, considering the personnel losses that he noted.

It's another to get there and find that the entire culture is messed up.

I don't think Allen is at fault here for committing to a program that had covered up its issues so successfully with pure talent.

Don't you think from seeing the team practice and visiting and seeing how the players prepared would have given him this insight?

Either way he's getting flak from former players now for all of this.

I'm sure there were signs that he could have seen, but he was a high school kid. I'm sure he was enamored with the glitz and the glamour of TAMU, and not trying to look for the dirty laundry when he was on his visits.

Apparently Allen was gonna be the 3rd stringer this spring. Decided to go Pro instead lol, what could go wrong

The only Houston game I watched last year he was the QB and went like 35 for 38 passing. Did not realize he got relegated to the bench.
