Hopefully it helps us with Vanderdoes. Not saying it will but something to keep an eye on.

Could be why they are pushing Sebastian out.

Eh I know they're confident in both McQuay and Robinson... either one (or academics) could be the reason there with LaRue. We'll see what happens... its completely ridiculous the grasp Mack Brown is losing AND that suck *** USC is somehow intriguing more high star recruits.

From my understanding aren't they over by one right now as it stands? I thought I read that somewhere.

Schrader posted something this week saying that SC is likely to get both McQuay and Robinson, and that will put them over by one.

they would be over by one but they are pretty positive Sebastian will not be in the class. I dont think he even has an official visit set up for USC now. Jalen Ramsey and Jason Hatcher are also looking around. I have a feeling Hatches will not be going to USC.

Do you think he might wind up in a small college town in Florida rhymes with Damesbill?

Thanks that makes more sense. I do think LaRue decommits and Hatcher goes to Louisville with Quick.

I hope LaRue's academics are in order and he likes his visit to Southbend. Fingers crossed. I know a lot of you guys are not high on LaRue, but I'm very high on him.

There is a chance Hatcher goes to Florida but I think Louisville is in the drivers seat. USC is not really afraid of that happening because they have back up plans like former Florida commit Quentin Powell. USC has played this perfectly.

Kinda confused by your first sentence sherm. Missing an 'if'? I'm also really high on LaRue... would be arguably the best skill position player in the class not named Cole Luke... we'll probably be full up though.

I thought since Isaac couldnt EE that they would be over the 15 per year limit given to them by the NCAA. I think that may be what GITF is referring to. Just throwing that out that, not sure myself.

But could you imagine the Dline of:
A'Shawn Robinson
Eddie Vanderdoes
Kenny Bigelow

People said that about their recruiting classes for the past 4 years. Didn't work out. Although USC would like it, they don't hang banners for recruiting national championships. If Lane Kiffin is still the head coach of those 3, I bet they won't pan out.

I think Leonard Williams is going to pan out

He's already panned out. Complete beast.

As long as USC doesn't load up on the OL and DL, you don't worry about them as much under Kiffy-boy. But when they start loading up there, even Kiffin can win (and he already dominated us once). Fortunately they haven't done that on the O-line, but their D-Line is starting to get some horses over there. Holy cow.

IMO we can't just say "Oh well, Kiffin is coaching them so they'll still suck" as they get these insane recruits. Cause what'll happen is, these guys will be sophomores when USC gets off sanctions, Kiffin will be gone, they could have a real coach in there, and then guys like Cravens, Vanderdoes, Bigelow, Ramsey, Hatcher, Fitts, Hawkins, Williams, etc will be flying around the ball and they will be TOUGH to score against.

So while I'm glad Kiffy is their coach, I still don't want them loading up on so many studs on the D-line. That's a dominant, SEC type line they are building...

Always scary to see them load up on the lines indeed, but we aren't doing too bad either. It will make for great match ups if somehow Kiffin put this thing together.

I really dont think Lane was the problem last year the offense seemed to do just fine. The defense was the problem. I noticed two things when I watched USC 1 Monte is clueless against spread offenses 2 there talent level wasn't where it used to be on D.

Because every skill player they recruit plays WR.

All due respect, I follow USC a lot closer than you do, and many of my friends are USC fans, and Lane was a HUGE problem. First off, offense aside, he has his head buried in the playsheet so damn deep all the time that he has no grasp of the flow of the game (defense and special teams). He's always thinking of the next play he can call, and the rest of the team suffers. He's trying to fix that right now, as his team prepares for the bowl game - he has spent more time with the defense in the last 5 practices (while letting his assistants run the offense) than he has his entire 3 years there.

And as for offense, ask many USC fans - the are PISSED with the offense. No flow, no identity, not efficient, and generally underachieved, considering the talent they had. Look at some of their performances:

* Stanford - only 14 pts, 3 turnovers. Awful game.
* AZ - as many points that they scored, the offense also had 5 turnovers.
* UCLA - Offense had 4 straight series with 0 pts to start the game, and had 2 turnovers which lead to 14 pts. Threw a pick on the first play of the game. 3 turnovers overall.
* ND - horrible. The goal-line playcalling was pathetic. 13 pts.
* UW - 7 pts in the 2nd half, Barkley 10-20 for only 167 yds, 2-12 on 3rd down. Against a pedestrian defense.
* Cal - offense was pretty dang bad; Barks 2 more INTs. The defense won that game for them.

Now, the defense was their bigger problem, no doubt, but their offense highly, highly underachieved, and that is directly on Lane's shoulders...

Texas has been caught with its pants down. Forever they ruled in-state recruiting, but now Baylor and TCU have come on strong, TxTech will be improved with Kingsbury, and they Aggie's lightening quick rise their first year in SEC has stunned everyone, and led to great recruiting class. Add in that OU always recruits Texas well, and the door is now wide open to SEC teams to come in and pilfer...along with Mack having several down years due to weak QB play and devastating injuries. Irish recruiting is getting better here, but still has a way to go with lots of stiff competition. Competing for NC will help.
