Gotta be.. I wonder when the re-rankings will happen. I hope Elmer doesn't drop too far. We'll see when the summer circuit comes around (which is probably going to be around the time the re-rankings happen again.)

Steven Elmer OT 6-6 315 Midland, MI 94
John Montelus OT 6-5 305 Everett, MA 87

I just hope Montelus moves up and Elmer doesn't drop to far. However I trust the judgment of our coaches over any recruiting sites.

Saw Montelus leave the stadium about 10 minutes ago chatting with Diaco, kid had the biggest smile on his face. Welcome buddy!

There has been some comment about how this O-Line class stacks up with, specifically, Michigan's. The answer is of course: we'll see once they take the field. Now, if we want to ask the question as to how they are RANKED just at this moment in their Junior in high school years --- well, it's still a bit of a coin-flip. If you want to go with 247, then Michigan's line class is second to Texas' class, and there is a gap and ND comes third easily ahead of the next [so far]. If you want to go with Rivals, the gap closes, and Michigan may edge out Texas. But ND is real close. If you want to go with ESPN, the three schools are basically a wash, with Texas maybe third. All of these guys number-grade within the 79-81 range on those rating systems that use that ~80+ point scale. ESPN rates ND as getting verbals from 5 of the top 22 tackles in the country [#s 7, 8, 16, 21, 22]. Such a class needs to take a back seat to no one.

Does anyone think we will add any more Ol to this class. We obviously have a lot of other holes to fill with limited spots.

Glad to have a O-line lokking real good. Now time to get a top notch LB and another very good Corner.

Welcome John! You made a great decision and will round up a very talented offensive line class. Can't wait to see you guys dominate the line of scrimmage.

“@rivalsmike: John Montelus is a beast grab for #NotreDame, kid will be moving on up! US Army invite of mine. Will be nasty guard.”

Good pickup. I was hoping he visited Columbus at least once. His film is impressive, he's pretty raw but the upside is clearly there.

Really excited to have him jump on board with this OL haul. I'm not the least unhappy with this group!

I find that comment interesting because he works for 247, and 247 has Elmer rated much higher. Could mean that Montelus will be bumped up quite a bit in the future?

Also, gotta love how prompt 247 is with its updates. ESPN and Rivals don't even have an ND offer or interest listed on their respective pages for Montelus, but 247 had an update after his Florida visit, and then updated again right away with his commitment to ND.

DUH...it's name is 247...HELLO...
just playing...

Great class of OL. Bodes well for the future. Let's find a bruising RB or two.

I think everyone of the O Line recruits has a wallet that says bad MO FO on it!
