Philip Dorsett went in the first round. 5'10 185. In 4 years at miami he had 121 catches for 2100 yards and 17 tds. He ran a 4.33 at the draft.

Will is listed at 6' 180, in 3 years he has 144 catches for 2500 yards and 30 tds. If he can run 4.4 or below he is gonna some teams thinking about him late in the first.

Not saying Dorsett was worthy of a 1st round pick, just like I dont think Will is. Just showing teams want that speed bad.

If he's still there at 14, he'll be gone by 15.

Oh ya, I said I agree with that. Just pointing out that WRs have been going like crazy the last couple years. Just takes one team to fall in love with his speed.

As to Will Fuller he could very easily go in round one because of his ability to take the top off a defense. NFL teams covet guys who can do that. The term you hear in NFL circles today is explosion plays. Teams want to create explosion plays on offense and limit them on defense. Fuller has great value in that area more than a Nelson Agholor for example. Agholor is good but not great in any aspect of playing WR. Fuller's speed puts him on another level.

I'll be interested in this too. I get the feeling he is faster than quick, though. Would love for the NFL to test for max MPH.

I think Adoree would tell you, it's faster than anyone he's ever caught

Um I think you're forgetting this play. Accelerates like he's shot out of a cannon:

Now that Will's speed/NFL potential have been discussed, anyone have any info on Jaylon's injury, or when/if we will find out more?

We are trying to pass the time until news is reported. We figured maybe it would pass faster of we were discussing someone as fast as will.

I am thinking. Jaylon's insurance policy is crucial. Jaylon gets 5 mil if he is not in the first round. I do not think Jaylon can return to ND and risk another devastating injury.

What if Jaylon and the insurance company entered into a revised contract? Jaylon returns to ND and by insurance company is guaranteed something North of 5 mil if Jaylon is not drafted in the first 10 picks. If Jaylon drafted in top 10 insurance company owes Jaylon NOTHING.

I'm still sick inside seeing such a high quality human being go through this. I know football is a cruel game but goddamn.

For sure. Jaylon's been everything you could possibly ask of a Notre Dame student athlete, and I really feel terrible for the kid.

Question:

I am not judging but this did cross my mind because it was so blantantly a targeting foul... but does anyone think Bosa intentionally took himself out of the game realizing there were millions at state and seeing what happened to Smith?

No because spearing the chest/throat area of a QB might not get called.. If he was trying to get kicked out, it's way easier to torpedo to the Qb's head area and for sure be tossed

The rule is now leading and therefore contacting a player with the crown of the helmet right? Not necessarily helmet to helmet. I could be wrong, I just don't know what he was thinking otherwise.

I don't, but I don't have a very high opinion of Bosa's intellect and decision making.

I actually think he did as well. Never really seen a hit like that before. It was the definition of what targeting is supposed to be, yet it didn't appear malicious at all and he didn't even try to "finish" the hit. He just very obviously lowered the crown of his head and didn't even land much of a hit on Kizer.

This breaks my heart man.. seriously.

Totally agree. Really made it hard to get back into the game after I saw them cart him off w/ that look on his face. Just tore me up for the kid. Worst thing about this fantastic sport.

Yea, that picture is tough to look at. My heart sure goes out to Jaylon.

On another note, if/when he declares I'd like to see my Cowboys trade back and pick him up. Might make more sense for my fanhood than the Cowboys, but I like it.

I don't think Bosa did this on purpose.

Too much analysis required ("Jaylon is really hurt (except though we didn't know that then (or now, even) so how could Bosa have suspected it?), so I better protect my future"); too much out of character for a guy who just seems to like to play; thinks himself too much of a badass to get hurt like that; and, frankly, he looked to be on the verge of tears as he left the field and I don't think he's that good of an actor.

Why is an official medical diagnosis taking so long? Do you think they're going around getting lots of second opinions? or what

Could be waiting on swelling to go down before doing an MRI(?)

Sometimes, you throw them on the table the next morning like they did Malik, sometimes it takes a while, like Folston's case.

I don't know for sure... haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in 10 years.

I don't know, but there are others here with a lot more inside knowledge than I have, so I'd defer to them. Purely a guess (what I would do if it was my son)?:

I think it would be prudent to get three or four opinions, at least, from the best I can find; then get opinions from the best draft assessors as to what the effect of those various scenarios will have on his draft position.

Then do some heavy discussion within the inner circle of family, trusted friends, etc., as to whether, based on the medical and draft opinions it makes more sense to take the safe bet and declare for the draft (knowing you'll go lower than you would have, but still higher than you will if rehab doesn't go well, or you come back to ND, play, and are not the player you were), or say "hell, let's go for it." ie rehab, come back, and show that you are still the same top ten pick you were before. This latter assumes you will even be able to play by the 2016 college season.

That's my offhand opinion.

Also he could've had the surgery alreay, or it be in the next day or so, and wants to wait to release the diagnosis until after the surgery and he has time for his camp to discuss what his best options are.
