When was the last time a backup was the beneficiary of this much hand wringing? Was it Crist?

The guys in front of him are tearing it up. Mcdaniels ain't tearing it up.

Neither has Bryant in his limited action. Dude had made as many bad plays as good plays. If he doesn't get that well...there's nothing much anyone can do.

Why all the talk of him transferring and "this will not end well"? What did I miss?

McDaniel is gone next year, Bryant isn't going anywhere.

That being said, as much as I do like Cam I'm not sure what he adds on the field to this team in terms of performance. He's had better than 4 yards per carry twice this year and couldn't get it going today either.

He's a great blocker

He is trying to go for the big play in limited carries. I don't remember him making as many bad plays as good plays. The limited carries are hurting him because he is trying to make up for the carries he doesn't get. He has 4 carries in the last 3 games which is hard to believe.

I'll be surprised if he's on the roster next season. 5 star recruits don't come to South Bend to ride the bench.

Not that Kelly is making the wrong decision or anything. Folston deserves to be getting the ball. Would have liked to have seen Bryant incorporated into the offense, but oh well.

We all want him to do well, after the transfer rumors (naked lap anyone?). We don't get 5* backs every year, and sometimes they don't reach their potential anyway (Aldridge). That said, I don't watch practice and judge on potential, but right now, Folston is the man. No disrespect to cam, but I'd be nice to see GB at least get some carries.

I doubt Bryant thinks he is tearing it up in practice. I bet he knows if he is struggling. If he transfers, he sits a year.

I don't understand why everyone assumes he will trasnfer if he doesn't get carries. Name me one ggod program he would want to transfer to that doesn't already have one or two good RBs that he would have try and beat out while also learning a new system.

If he transfers that's another wasted year. Hopefully he is patient because next year him and Folston are the guys.

^^This.

Cam was/is important to this team because both Folston and Bryant needed work on blocking and other techniques. Now they have improved in those areas and Cam's roll isn't as important. He is gone next year and we have a 5 star redshirt freshman that could use some reps. We talk about how important recruiting anothe RB for 2015 is...imagine if GB really did transfer, we would have Folston and Adams.

With that in mind, again, why would he transfer and have to sit a year when he would be #2 at worst next year?

That makes sense. I noticed - at least in the second half - that he didn't even have his helmet on when we were on offense, which would be unusual unless he was either hurt or officially "benched."
Either way, we're going to need him. If not this year then next. He'd be foolish to transfer. His time will come.

So should we keep trashing Cam and Kelly for conspiring to steal those 9 carries from Bryant or just recognize some posters regularly run their mouths before engaging their brains?

Why let facts get in the way of a perfectly nonsensical rant?

I'm personally more of a fan of the mid game transfer bump. Good times.

I think Greg watching Folston do so well this year with pass block and his patience will drive Greg to be even better next year. Let's remember again, this is really Greg's true freshmen campaign, and by briefly looking at Folston's stats last year as a freshmen to Greg this year, Greg is probably on pace to have as many carries if not more this year, and that's with Folston and Golson playing this year. The only difference though, Cam never really turned it on last year so the ball was spread throughout the backs, with Folston playing so well, Greg may get less and less carries as the year goes on. But next year it will be Shake and Bake with TF and GB, I can't wait to see what GB can do with another season under his belt.

Go Eye Rish!

If not hurt, Bryant may have gotten the reps that Cam did last night. I'm glad BK has went away from the three back rotation. Folston is now able to get in a flow and it's been showing.
