It's not even that man. I will speak my mind after reading the last couple pages on this thread. Here is my break down and most of you won't like it.

I just am not buying the hype man. ND nation is putting a heck of a lot of pressure on this kid to come in and be a star. I just was never that high on him coming out of high school I never saw the 5 star guy hype. People down in Florida who watched this kid play didn't want him. I am glad he's at ND but just reading this board you would think he is the second coming. He hasn't done jack besides had a good spring and a run nice in the spring game. I am just saying for a guy who will probably be our third string back to start the year. I just don't know how some of you can drool over this kid. I know the coaches rave about him in practice own again. Show me on the field and I will shut the fuck up about this. But god even if Greg farts in public it's reported to this board. Him getting a good test grade is reported to this board. I think he will be a good player for ND and I hope he turns into what you all are saying he will be.

I think he will be a nice player for ND and that was a nice catch and I hope he becomes a super star and you could all say "we told you so GB".

That's all well and fine, but no one is basing their career expectations around one catch in practice. It's ok to simply admire a sweet catch in practice, independent of your expectations of Bryant this season or for his career. Doesn't have to necessarily mean anything else. That's my only point.

No I completely get it and trust me it was a good catch. I just don't understand why his every move is reported to this board.

I guess I should have based on argument over the last 10 pages of this thread.

He is not the first or the last kid where his every move will be followed. Those types have kids have had all types of careers, good and bad. We'll have to wait and see how Bryant's career unfolds.

But he made a great catch here, and it is more than fine to simply admire it for what it was: a great athletic play that we hope we see more of this fall.

I hope we see a ton of it this fall as well it was a nice catch. I will just shut up I shouldn't have commented in the first place.

Because he's a five star back that plays for ND, and this is an ND board. You don't need kool aid to have high expectations for five star recruits.

Easy behind a keyboard to bash a kid for not living up to the hype that said keyboardist is hoping for. Bryant will only be a sophomore. Looking for great things from him. He has already accomplished more than most if not all could wish for. A athletic scholarship to ND.

You do have some merit. There are people who are taking the GB hype a little out of hand. However, I have to disagree with you on how you see Bryant. He is a 5-star in my mind, no question about it. Saw that in high school, and from what I've seen in college, nothing makes me think otherwise. He's simply got everything mixed into one. Good speed, good moves, good vision, good hands, great power especially for his size. That being said, ALL 3 of the backs are in that same mold. A kinda Jack of all trades back. Bryant seems to be the fastest and most powerful, Folston the most fluent and is close to Bryant in terms of both speed and power, and McDaniel is the best blocker and is close to them in terms of speed and power. The Irish honestly, have 3 great runningbacks, any of whom could end up standing out as one of the best in college football, heck even two. I can see this unit shaping up and rivaling those down south with the likes of Georgia, Auburn and Alabama.
