because i was a junior in college which seems like yesterday however now you time stamped this event into perspective. i guess i just assume that everyone is relatively the same age around here. I know theres a wide spectrum but i prefer to be on the low end of the spectrum lol which im clearly not

....except the end zone. Kid is averaging 7 yards a carry. Had a big return against USC, again. Needs to improve on some things but saying "speed hasn't gotten him anywhere" is pretty rediculous.

GAIII is certainly not a bust. He's a great guy to have in the mix, dangerous every time he touches the ball. I love that delay counter they run to him, and I'm sure they'll keep looking for ways to get him involved.
But right now he just doesn't seem like the clear RB1 next year. He's tall and runs high. He's not particularly big. As discussed earlier he's still learning how to cut and move well with his blockers. Some of that will come (Wood became a much more patient runner over the years), but some is inherent. I think we're always going to need at least one other power back in the rotation with him. Maybe that's Mahone. Maybe it's Bryant.

On GAIII I feel the opposite. IMO he strings the play out too long without hitting the hole and turning it up field. I think he needs to get more comfortable with contact.

Skillset. He's has better ballskills than GAIII. And I love cam as much as u guys but he's not an every down back on a National championship football team. Will be a solid contributor and a must have kid.

There's no such thing as an every down back anymore in football. Like most other teams, we're going to use 2-3 backs every game and typically go with the hot hand in the fourth quarter.

I'm sorry but am I the only one who isn't impressed by his film? He looks really slow. The competitions he plays against looks pretty weak, and he can't even outrun those kids... The lack of speed really concerns me.

You should be. He plays football in South Florida, so I don't think your opinion of his competition is accurate.
I'm not concerned with his speed, he is still a 4.5 speed guy and plays with plenty of speed. I love the pad level he has and how strong he is. I think Kelly, Stoops, Saban, Kiffin, Meyer, Muschamp and Jimbo know good RB's when they see them.

You might be looking at earlier film. I looked at film from a year or two ago.... boy he looked slow. The recent film looked much better. He's not a top end guy anyway. Great football speed in my opinion. The offer list pretty damn mean. He shows 4.56 on Scout and 4.49 on 247 which would support the improvement I noticed. He's not going to be a burner, but he will wear down a D.
