I feel sorry for the offense when they line both up on the same side. No wait a minute, not really.

Can you imagine if Tuitt stays for his senior year? (which I think he will)

EV and Jaylon from one side and Tuitt from the other, all comin' to rip someone's head off?

Eesh.

He might. Stephon was definitely raw as a freshman and last year made massive strides. I don't think he will reach his ceiling next year...He could be in the conversation for #1 in his senior season if he has the sort of potential that I think he does. Can you imagine how dominant a senior Stephon Tuitt would be? (especially with the talent and depth that the d will have then)

Tuitt is projected as a top 5-10 overall pick in 2014. Gonna be tough to turn that down.

Eesh.

Sheldon Day is not going to just roll over and let EV start.

They're going to rotate in and out quite a few guys next year, IMO.

In one of the interviews after his announcement Eddie said that he's not gonna play baseball this year so he can workout and train until July 15th when he arrives at ND. That's pretty big news considering this kid is a very good baseball player. But the reason I brought that up is he is going to have a lot of time to get ready for fall camp. Him and day are going to be fun to watch. I'll also add that I think jones will see some time this year as well but Eddie will probably pass him up.

Loved his announcement. Very personable kid. I can see why he and Louis got along so well during recruiting. They have the same personality. So excited for this kid and the University.

Uh no. EVD can play as a 3-4 DE, NT or DT in the 4-3 whereas the likes Okwara Ishaq are 3-4 OLB and 4-3 DE's.

Okwara and Ishaq game is not suited to being 3-4 DE's at all. Ishaq IMO is best suited to being 4-3 DE as he's an out and out pass rusher and even at the CAT the coverage he was asked to take care of was too much when he looked great this past season is when he was a CAT in obvious passing situations as well as when he was in there in a four man fronts when he had less responsibility and could just get after it.

We need talent there on the DL. Top notch. So, we don't get run over like we did in the National Championship. We are really close. These guys are just fierce. Love them.

Does anyone think Isaac has a chance to crack the rotation this year?

It is just still unbelievable to me how this staff has turned the d line into a deep group and a strength of the program. It is even more hard to believe that next years class can only make it better.

Not trying to be a dick but why do you for the most part only post about DE/OLB stuff and think yourself the expert?

Something like the "Flying Dutchman" or "The Dozer" [after Vander DOES], would be far more appropriate, civilized, and much less offensive for what seems to be a religious family.

Meant to comment on this earlier, but got distracted. "Dozer" is one helluva nickname. Unless his peers give him a funny or more personal nickname, that's what I'll be using.

4). Now I'll be curmudgeonly unpopular. I would not be unhappy to see the "Dutch Phuck" business dropped. It's unnecessary and doesn't even relate well with what the Big Man will be accomplishing as a DE for Notre Dame. Absolutely agree, not sure why that nickname amuses people

What's with the lack of volume? Technologically speaking, this announcement was perhaps the worst ever. Black outs, no volume, etc. I'm not sure who's was worse between his and Russel's.

If I am not mistaken, K Russ's went black on purpose so that he could put the hat on without anyone knowing! One of the cooler "hat selecttions" I have seen.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I thought it was technical difficulties.

Doesn't matter. They're both Irish. I'm good with that.

Yes, Russell's was definitely on purpose. The lights went out and they hit the music.
