Hope this works itself out. EV will be a tremendous player for someone - I want it to be ND.

I'm angry. This has burned us before, so why can't we do our work to make sure we don't miss this stuff. Shirley, not much could have changed between NSD and now except Eddie failing a class. If this is the issue, why would there have been smoke for the past month or two- certainly that would be enough time for him to pull a grade up or something. I am not mad at Eddie, this sounds like an issue withe the staff or ND admissions (IMO).

Note: When I saw 'we' i mean the ND coaching/ football staff... it makes me feel important...

He hasn't used his twitter since March. Quit using it after NSD.

IMO, the reason this has been happening is it seems Bk and staff have been recruiting some reaches from an academic standpoint in order to bolster the program on the field. I have thought for awhile that we need to do that in order to consistently win. As long as the recruits are aware of the academic difficulties when here and can compete in the class room they should be given a shot. However, the mess is created when there is a lot of grey area and that could be what we see here. With that said I understand this to be on Vanderdoes's end. The family has become disgruntled with our staff due to a misunderstanding regarding academics. Eddie sure is a difference maker so lets hope this works out.

Finally the cat is out of the bag.This shouldn't come as a surprise to some of you as you have previously stated. I heard this about a month ago and didn't take it to seriously still am not. I was told it was a academic issue and it was also something else. I've been talking to a ND mod and he "believes he will show up" not betting the house though. Honestly I believe he will show up, if you follow him on instagram it also shouldn't come as a huge surprise.

Depth at DE but no studs and who the eff is going to play in the middle.

Hmm a misunderstanding regarding academics? What could that be? Like, we don't have his intended major, maybe?

Anyway, unless the "misunderstanding" concerns whether Vanderdoes is eligible, that sounds like something that can be smoothed over. I'm hopeful he'll enroll.

Probably more like he'll have to take summer school to pass admissions, which will mean he'll miss summer camp.

I just stalked his instagram...and I didn't see much of anything in the last 3wks or so to make it seem like he wouldn't be reporting...Most recent pic is of a tweet about the amount of time put in weekly on/off the field for college football players is that of a full time job...and he says,, "That's the life I'm living here pretty soon!" That was 14hrs ago...

FWIW, TP mentioned a couple of days ago in the 'depth chart 2013 thread' that he doubts that EV sees the field this year.

I strongly disagreed with him, but that's not the point. My point is he mentioned EV with regards to NDs depth chart for this coming year, and IMO it sounded like he expects EV to be here.

If TP thought EV wouldn't be here, I would expect he wouldn't even bring him up.

It sounds like whatever has happened can be fixed, so in my mind its not the Tee situation all over again. This is my speculation here: Something regarding academics wasn't what they thought it was (misunderstanding), this is causing Eddie and his family to have cold feet. This is simply making the move from California to South Bend more difficult. Picture this: Its your wedding day and you are nervous about getting married then you find out that your fiance slept with your best friend before you were together. You can freak out and use it as an out and not get married. Or you can realize that this is what you really want to do, it doesn't make your relationship any different and proceed forward. May not be the best example but thats what I liken it to.

SMH..so sick of this sort of thing happening every year. EV, Lynch, Tee etc. are the kind of players that are separating us from a team like Alabama and I just don't understand how this keeps happening.

Just hope everything gets taken care of and EV is here ready to ball this summer.

Me as well but I had a lot of fun coming up with that. My point was the same as yours. Its fixable but he's now having second thoughts.
