To be honest I think ND is better not having someone pop at the spring game. Let the already verbaled kids get to know each other and then they will take care of themselves. No offense to any of the uncommitted kids visiting, but there are better options and right now ND can wait the kids out that will be visiting.

Passing on kids worked out really well last year

Its April. ND along with pretty much every other program can still go after the guys on the top of their boards. When a program has a great foundation in April, along with quality talent at position of need, programs can be somewhat picky on kids. If we had 5 commits I'd say take whoever wants to pop at the spring game, but we have 10, with 12 spots left. Can't take everyone in April.

....unless it's JSmith, Rochell, Huerman, DRobinson, PWillis, Montelus, MRedfield, Green, Sherit, VBell, Anzalone, Cox, ;)

hindsight is 20/20 bro... besides, the non-committed talent coming to the BG game so far is not really that impressive. Like TP said, the staff can be picky right now, which should be a good thing for ND fans to hear...

Highly rated dual threat QB J.T. Barrett just committed to Ohio State. Hopefully that alleviates some people's seemingly unneccesary anxiety over Malik Zaire possibly flipping to the Buckeyes. Good pickup for Urban.

If you named all those off the top of your head you should work for the team. I'm thinking Jonah Hill's character on Moneyball.

Barrett only going to OSU because he doesn't have the chest for LSU.

There's 10 months to NSD and 118 other Div 1 teams for the worryworts to fret over. No use to rationalize with the irrational.

You really got a thing about that Les Miles chest comment.

Not saying he is next but ND just offered Kendell Beckwith #1 Ath on ESPN 16 overall. He doesn't have a profile here yet. Any mutual interest?

No, just seemed apropos as Barrett spurned LSU for OSU. Thought I'd help Les out so he didn't have to wait 10 months for NSD to get it off his chest.

A QB/OLB who'll play linebacker in college, so a position of need. But at first glance, he looks like a tough pull. From Louisiana. LSU and Alabama seem after him hard. Not a lot of offers, though, which seems odd.

Thanks

247 had a premium link up today with a reaction that I could not read.

Looking around he visited Alabama and LSU a few times. Sounds like he wants to play LB.

He said what they all say, that ND is a big name and that he'd be interested in visiting. From Sapp's article it sounds like his recruitment is still in the very early stages and that he is still gathering info about schools (especially ND ... he got an offer letter out of the blue and hasn't even spoken to a coach yet, though he's going to call Cooks this weekend).

What stuck out to me is how he really wants to play LB. As a high school DE he knows that people know he can rush the passer, but he believes he can drop off in coverage and play in space as well. Sounds like a perfect CAT LB to me.

But he is by no means "likely next." Sounds like he is far from deciding.

ISD says a 11th commitment is very possible this weekend. Apparently a recruit told them they would "probably" commit this weekend, but they obviously wouldn't say who it was. It would shut down recruiting at that position, so that might be a hint. No mention on whether said prospect would be on campus, but they did say if there isn't a commitment by Monday, ISD will share who it was. Also said it would be a big get.

Grubl told me McQuay or Bell would shut down recruiting at the Safety position after he got a favorite from one of his tweets

Still think its Montelus imo
