Here's hoping we put an epic beatdown on the Trojans like never before! Really though, this will come down between UGA and ND. Notre Dame has the talent to produce better results now than Georgia. I think winning 10 or 11 games seals the deal for ND.

If we finish with a better record than UGA and beat USC when he's here, I think he's ours.

I like the way you think my friend.

UGA is gonna fail to meet expectations again, they (nearly) always do.

I should qualify that. If we: (1) finish with a better record than UGA; (2) beat USC; and (3) a 2nd blue chip RB hasn't committed to us by the time Keith is ready, then I think he's ours.

I think there's a good chance Mahone and B. Marshall commit to us before Keith is ready to decide, which could knock us out of the running. Sort of like missing out on the hottest girl in school because you're already in bed with a pair of still super hot twins. I can live with such problems.

I dunno. I think there's a 25% chance UGA wins the division and plays for the conference championship.

But that's my second boldest prediction for the season.

Most of us dream about that kind of problem.

I don't really think that competition would drive Keith away. After all Georgia is a/the favorite and they signed the #1 back in the country last year.

I would love to see us grab all three...both Marshalls and Mahone...not likely...unless it's a video game.

Just getting Keith on campus is huge for our chances. Perhaps one of the others could get moved to the slot?

Keith would be the crown jewel of this recruiting class.

Great analogy.

for Keith Marshall according to Tom Lemming;

By BOB WIENEKE - Follow me @bobwienekeisr South Bend Tribune Staff Writer

Coveted running back recruit Keith Marshall of Raleigh, N.C., confirmed in a text message Tuesday that he will make an official visit to Notre Dame for the Oct. 22 USC game.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Marshall, who plays at Millbrook High, also said he will take officials to Georgia and Florida.

Marshall, ranked the 24th-best player nationally by CBS Sports Network analyst Tom Lemming, has been timed at 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash, according to Rivals.com.

Marshall, according to Lemming, has become good friends with ND commit Ronald Darby, a cornerback from Oxon Hill, Md. Darby committed to Notre Dame in April while attending the Blue-Gold Game.

"Ron Darby has become his most important recruiter," Lemming said. "They've become very, very good friends and Darby has been talking to him about Notre Dame.’’

Lemming said Marshall seemed to be heavily involved with North Carolina until head coach Butch Davis was fired.

" I think Notre Dame may have a real good shot at him," Lemming said. "It could really work out great."

I think Notre Dame fans have a love/hate relationship with Tom Lemming, this is one of those love moments.

I know it's been said before, but how great is it to have Darby out there talkin to these other recruits

I agree that Lemming can be ridiculous, but even if he is exaggerating, it's still good thing that the Keith Marshall conversation is even in that ballpark.

Mahone/Marshall.. damn that'd be nice.

That was a stellar post from Lemming. No glaringly outdated/ erroneous information.

This USC game keeps getting bigger and bigger. I really am starting to like our chances with Marshall. I still think it's kind of a long shot, but you never know. An energetic crowd, a solid game and a Notre Dame victory will do wonders.

I don't know why people keep insisting that we are such a long shot. If Keith has us in his top five and is using an OV. Then we are not a long shot. He isn't coming to South Bend just for the trip. If you want to do that you schedule an OV to Miami or Florida.

Its definetley not a long shot. We are probably sitting number 2 to Georgia right now and a OV can certainly change that.

Marshall’s next scheduled stop is for the Notre Dame-USC rivalry game in South Bend on Oct. 22.

“Notre Dame is a school I’ve been interested in for a while, but because of where it is and I’ve been busy, I haven’t been able to visit. I want to make sure I have a good look at them before I make my decision. They have a good football tradition and they’re on the rise again. They’re getting a lot of different recruits. The academics there are very good. A lot of the things they stand for, I stand for and I have to at least consider them.”

Something I also read in the article that stood out: "Still considering 14 college programs, Marshall plans to graduate from high school early, and in seeing his parents’ successes, he is looking towards majoring in business."

I don't like that last phrase.

He didnt give shining reviews out of any of his top schools. Georgia was basically because of Knowshon Moreno. Florida because of consitent winning and SCAR and UNC because their close.
