Have u guys ever seen a kid named Tyrann Mathieu? Explosiveness on defense and special teams Plus Neal is more talented in coverage than Mathieu

Either way we have proven depth at slot this year (Toma) and unproven depth at corner ( Bennet is a position switch and we have never seen him in coverage, everyone bases browns potential on Floyd, wood is too small)

Aren't Lo Wood and D. Neal the same height?

BJ did play db this year and had snaps...the honey badger is good; because of the overall athleticism of the def...their lb's are not liabilities in coverage and allow him to roam...we don't have that luxuary and he isn't great in coverage(i know u alluded he isn't the greatest)

We need a game changer on the offensive side of the ball. With Amir getting cleared it needs to be Wood and Amir in the back field. I would think he stays on offense.

Lo is 5'10 195 and I guarantee he is actually less he was 160 out of highschool and he runs a 4.6 40 and if u look at him he looks smaller than Davonte Neal who is 5'10 175 and runs a 4.4 40

EDIT: corners don't just put on 35 lbs and look small still

I don't know if your saying this is a fact or your educated opinion but moving a WR who has only played football for a couple yrs doesn't solve the problem of not having a elite corner it might just make it more complicated

Correct me if I'm wrong but Neal would be our only 4* corner if he switched

Neal needs to have the ball in his hands. Doubt he'll switch over.

Farley started off at CB, moved to WR, and will probably move back to CB.

Have you seen Neal with the ball in his hands? Name another guy on our roster who can do that? Ya we might be slim at corner but you cant take one of our best play makers and flip him. We are finally starting to get play makers with Ferg, Brown, Neal, Carilse and Atkinson. Keep them where they are comfy. Also with Amir being a pure running back i would expect Atkinson to start out wide vs. Navy.

EDIT: JUST GOT THE GREAT NEWS ON AMIR!

Neal needs to stay on the Off. side of the ball. There is plenty of room for Wood, Neal, Amir and Mahone. Talk about taking a breather. Every time one of these boys steps off the field for water, they may drop in depth chart lol.

I'd rather win a game 21- 17 because Neal had 4 deflections 6 tackles and locked down the opponent then lose a game 49- 45 because we didn't defend even though Neal had 150 total yards and 2 TD

Hopefully Neal is good enough at corner that he does find himself with the ball in his hands :)

This. No way we take that bomb shell off the ball. Time for the young guys to step up.

Farley will most likely move back to corner, but also Hardy was a corner when recruited originally. With the safety depth, he may train at corner as well for depth.

I think Devonte is an amazing offensive talent and its very hard to play someone at a position considered their secondary position. Especially with his talent level. Then again, we have a high school highlight tape to go off of while Kelly will make a legitimate educated decision. Regardless, we have athletes available to us!

You can say the opposite as well. I would rather win a game 49-45 because Neal had 3 TDs then lose 21-17 because our offense couldnt score.

I say put him where the team needs him most. Right now, with Tee's announcement, CB looks like a more pressing need.

Agreed but this was a follow up to me saying we have a proven slot man in Toma and we do not have a proven corner

No way you move Neal to D imo. I agree with Farley to CB with neal, theo,tj,amir,GAIII,wood, daniels, eifert, koyack all fighting for td passes from Golson.

We have got to get some solid DB recruits though are depth at CB is alarming.

I think Neal Starts day one. Safeties will have to roll to Eifert and with Neal's speed I think he shines immediately with single coverage.

With Amir coming, Tee going, I can envision a few changes in strategy. Wood/Amir at RB. Riddick/Attickson to slot, or at least splitting time at RB/slot. Neal at CB/PR/KR.

I love how we, myself included, are saying Neal will/will not move from WR to CB. The coaching staff hasn't said where he will play yet I believe so there is no switch, Kelly hasn't chosen which side he wants him at, an obvious sign that he is thinking about which one

I felt when Neal signed that he would be needed most at corner considering the lack of depth. Now with Shepard gone he has to play there imo.

You are insane sir...that will never work! It is clear, with his nimble feet Louis Nix is the man to be moved to corner!

That's what I am talking about. Hey, with the front this year picking up where they left off, there may be considerably less pressure on the corners . . .

I know the competition is tougher than hell this year.

You don't move a guy who is that dynamic to defense. Farley will move to corner.
