'11 SC QB Everett Golson (FSU transfer)

WE have no idea how this will effect us. I am going to miss EG but this could give MZ the confidence he needs to become better than EG was. Look what happened at OSU last year. Do I think our three QBs are as good as there three....who knows. We won't find out until something happens.

I guarantee you if anyone said the national champions would win with a 3rd-string QB starting the last 3 AND ONLY 3 games of the year we would have laughed him off the internet.

While we don't KNOW this is a good thing...it could be the best thing for us. It is the best thing for EG so I wish him well and hope it helps us along the way.

Was IMO the most dynamic signal caller in CFB last year. Could solely be responsible for being down 40 and coming back from his own hole.

ND would have won A LOT of games with him this year. Defense improves, and he limits just a couple untimely turnovers and you have a monster rolling teams.

yep, really hate to see him go. IMO golson is a better passer and zaire is the better runner. was actually excited to see a 2 qb system, but i know thats not ideal for a guy trying to get to the nfl.

the zaire era has begun, and i think we'll have a very different offense from years past, hopefully the run game can explode with 4 playmakers in the backfield now, zaire,bryant, folston, prosise.

DK and BW going to get some massive amounts of reps to win the #2 spot this fall though. Imo, #2 QB competition just took over as a top story for the off season.

The one possible transfer location I haven't heard much speculation about, but which kind of makes sense if you think about it is:

UCLA.

Wouldnt surprise me if Mora has been recruiting EG all along.

No inside info... just blind speculation and a hatred for all things Mora.

Best of luck to Everett, but this was the best solution for ND football imo. Zaire now gets the reps he needs and deserves, Golson was always going to be a gamble if we bet on him as the starting QB for next season. I'll always support whoever is under center, but it looks like it's Zaire now. There may be some growing pains, but long term I think we'll be better with him leading the offense. Now...lets run the damn ball! We've got the OL, we've got at least one good blocking TE, we've got the backs, and we've got a QB that can actually read the edge and run the option while still providing a threat with his arm. Now is the time, and this is the team.
