Yep, I think 3) and, um, 3) are right on. I fear that Hendrix has a little too much Dayne Crist in him ... great athlete, smart guy, but struggles with decisiveness. Golson looked pretty loose out there, which I liked.

Hendrix was not the reason they had to stop using a play clock in the Blue and Gold game. I was in the stands across the field from Kelly and I could hear every word he was screaming at Golson.

Ha, really? Yeah, pre-snap Golson had no idea what he was doing. And for all I know he was doing everything wrong after the snap as well, but at least he looked like he knew what he was doing.

I think he is offered as DB or WR. BK said in a presser that he was looking at adding a few more WR's. In actuality they may bring him in without a defined position and plug him in at the needed position. I love the offer, especially since he is so versatile.

I think this is easy for the fanbase to endorse because of the implications to the QB battle, but I am standing firm in my original thoughts.

If Michael Floyd is allowed to earn his way back into the week 1 lineup after a DUI conviction, I do not see how it is fair that Tommy and Carlo are punished more severely for a less severe misdemeanor crime.

I feel like this sends a bad message, but will go with whatever BK deems appropriate.

Golson has as much gameday experience as Kiel. That's great Golson has been doing awesome in practices, getting grades up etc, but do work on the field first before I annoint you Tony Rice Part Deux.

Much love for Hendrix, and Tommy.. They won all three games i saw in the last two yrs.. I want the best for ND so if thats Golson so be it.. Got to start winning again, and BK knows it.

I want to watch him against Navy with a chance to pass and run the ball.. We'll see if he can take a hit.. Golson looked so good in the BG game so give him the chance to be a starter for 2 yrs.

It is more about knowing that the guy who has been playing isn't the answer and recognizing the potential that another guy could step into that role and really elevate the play we get from the most important position on the field. He isn't a sure thing because, like you said, he hasn't demonstrated he can do it on Saturdays yet. On the other hand, he hasn't demonstrated that he can't (unlike the other guy) and everything we have seen from him leads to some excitement and some measured expectations about what could happen when he gets the chance.

Not being Rees. He has shown what he can do and we need to move on to try some other solution for the QB position. Not sure if the others will be any better this year (especially at the beginning) but my guess is that they will not be worse and have a much higher upside.

I am 90% certain that Tommy Rees would quarterback us to a win against Navy. Navy is a perfect team NOT to confuse him, plus we will run the ball conventionally. So, "no", I'm not happy because it's not Tommy versus Navy --- he'd win.

I'm happy because I think that I know that our only fighting chance against a few teams on this schedule is getting an athletic playmaker functioning competently at the quarterback position. To give that a chance, playing an athletic playmaker early to get him accommodated and settled into the game is the only route which gives us the possibility.
