I'm glad we passed on Yuri... Just think of how those tweets would reflect on us! Thankfully we dodged that bullet.

This is terrible news. I was really looking forward to watching him this year. Hopefully one of our guys can step up in his absence.

Are either Jalen Brown or Eliar Hardy doing anything impressive in camp? Or are they underachieving. Both were legit recruits with speed, if I remember correctly. It'd be a bummer if Russel has already surpassed them.

Jalen has been playing much better of late. Elair is coming off a major injury and just isn't there yet.

We better pray that Collinsworth comes back earlier than expected and plays saefty so Jamoris can move to corner against the last 4 teams we play (especially USC).

Either that or the light switch comes on for Josh or Jalen...

I'm really sorry for Lo, I know he was doing his best for himself and for the team, he was real close to that starting spot too, hopefully the other guys follow his example and step their game up in a hurry!

Anyone else see Farley starting safety- Slaughter to cb. Farley got runs with the first team when Slaughter was limited.

Of all the positions to lose a player, this was NOT the place to lose one. Thankfully our first game is against Navy who is pretty anti-pass. Hopefully we have some guys step up before we play teams like OU and USC.

And of course, I wish Lo a speedy recovery. Go Irish!

Honestly don't count out Russell from seeing serious minutes this year.

I know you are going to retort that he is a true freshman.

I remember a true freshman from North Carolina leading the NCAA in interceptions. A one Dre Bly. Just saying.

May Lo be filled with loving kindness;
May Lo be healthy and strong;
May Lo be free of all dangers, internal or external.
May Lo be filled with the ease of well being.
May Lo be happy!

There is my fifth freshman, Russel, with Brown and Adkinson.

Isn't Purdue pass happy as well? And certainly run support is going to be key against MSU...not to mention we all still have nightmares about what happened in the second half of the Michigan game last year at corner.

This is a HUGE blow...and puts that much more pressure on Diaco.

I wish we could let GAIII play corner this year. He's too talented to sit at 3rd RB.

As a funny aside, this was retweeted by II a few minutes ago. I laughed out loud...

At tonight's ND freshman mixer, there will be a "Fastest Backpedaler" contest. Don't question why, just enter to win...

It sure would be nice to have Standifer and TShep at this point. I will still blame it on the ND administration.

This news makes me sick. Had an achilles injury myself... only a partial tear... and was never close to 100% afterwards. No one should expect a "full recovery." Could honestly care less about the effect on ND, I just feel bad for Lo.

This just means our D line needs to ensure the opposing QBs feel enough pressure to force him to make quick decision/inacurate throws and allow our weak spot to be covered a bit

Reported @ B&G this is so severe it could be career ending.

I really hope they don't move Neal because of this. I don't see them moving him either. I wouldn't want to take away from a strength to hide a weakness.

Plus isn't it a little late for Neal to switch over with the first game being so close?

Sucks. He worked so hard to get where he was.
