I was wondering what any of you thought about this battle of ranked previous 2010 ND opponents that is also a state rivalry that is taking place this weekend in Ann Arbor?

Who will win? What kind of game will it be? Any predictions about the game itself (not just winner or score)? Do you even care? Whatever...

I'll hang up and listen as you discuss...

MSU is a MUCH, MUCH better team... but D.R. will keep them in the game...

if he gets hurt at ay point and misses any real time, MSU wins going away.

If he stays in the whole game

30-27 MSU

I have said many times... If Stanford beats Oregon(which they didn't) MSU and Stanford have a legit shot to meet in the Rose Bowl... actually they still can... especially if Oregon goes to the title game.

I'm going MSU all the way on this one. MSU is a better football team by miles. The only thing Michigan has going for them is Robinson. That kid is amazing and he continues to impress. But I think MSU is better by far and I expect the Spartan's defense to keep Michigan (Robinson) at bay. I'll guess 24-14 MSU.

I think MSU is better. They will definitely show up to play against their rival. Also there has been a good amount of video by now on Robinson that I feel like a decent team should be able to contain him. Maybe I'm wrong and this guy is Super Man, but I feel like Michigan hasn't played a solid defense yet.

Nobody has been able to stop Robinson yet. I don't think MSU can either. If Michigan can slow down MSU's RBs at all, they will win this game.

Even if MSU gets stopped in the running game, they will be able to pass. Kirk Cousins is a decent QB. scUM has the 120th ranked pass defense in the country and Indiana's QB passed for 490 yards on them last week! 490! I say MSU wins 37-24.

I would pick Michigan St., but Michigan has Denard Robinson, and that has been enough against every team they've played thus far. This is a toss up, Michigan St. is clearly the better team, but you can't stop DRob, you can only hope to contain him. I'll say Michigan St, 38-34.

Michigan favored by 5 points...makes this a very very tempting game for my first foray into real-money betting.

The best defense they've played is Connecticut's. Connecticut is currently 51st in the FBS in total defense.

The others...

Us (89th)
UMass (FCS)
Bowling Green (119th)
Indiana (88th)

Michigan State's running game controls the clock and they win by 10.

Easy with the real gambling. Once you win big, you'll be hooked forever and then you'll eventually gamble the rent money and then you'll get a leg broken and divorced and eventually fitted with concrete boots and dropped into Lake Michigan. Or you may win a few bucks and be just fine.

And the kicker is... as bad as we are at defense... when we stopped giving them a short field/had a real offense on the field so our D wasn't completely worn out they only scored 7 points. Yeah, they still probably pile up some good yardage but like with any run-first team all it takes is one negative play against a solid defense and they will struggle to convert the first down.

Tulsa poses a problem. They can score.

I don't think Tulsa should be much of a problem. They have lost two games thus far to East Carolina (51-49) and Oklahoma State (65-28). They right now have a 3-2 record and they have beaten Memphis, Central Arkansas and Bowling Green. I think our Defense will dominate this game.

I have no doubt some teams here and there wil challenge us... but it's pretty obvious the defensive numbers will get better just about everywhere from this game to Utah.

MSU because they have a kicker. Robinson meets Greg Jones as he tries to cut it back up inside, the scene is horrific.

could it be that those defenses are ranked lower than they would be if Robinson hadn't rolled up so many yards/TDs on them? I bet we are 20 - 25 spots higher without Robinson's 13,000 yards against us.

I think scUM is gonna be crying right around 6:45 pm this saturday. That will be when MSU seals the game in the middle of the 4th. Couzins will throw a TD pass that will put Sparty up 27 - 13 and thousands of skunkbears will be feeling the dagger. Then on the next possession DR either fumbles or throws a pick. Then the dagger is twisted and the game is really over. Bye bye undefeated scUM.

I really hate michigan......... F' Em!!!

Michigan is one dimensional. Their entire game plan is to try to ISO Robby and let him run. Michigan State has the best linebacker in Div I in Greg Jones, and the rest of the LB's are very solid, including 5 star freshman Will Gholston. The only factor that is going to keep this under a 20 point Sparty stomping is the fact that it's being played in the Big House.

Only team I hate more than scUM is the Trojanenz.

Won't even be close.

I think Robinson will have some problems with MSU's defense. I don't think Robinson has the kind of monster games he has had thus far this year. That is one talented guy, but your defense will have to play well in the game.
